The Ashley must be one of Timaru's best kept secret's. The check in was done in a flash. Due to mobility issues i was given the choice of two apartments. (We chose the 2 brm) The rooms had everything you could possibly need, all the kitchen utensils and the oven were spick and span. We really enjoyed the heat pump its pretty cold in Timaru in June. Overall I would have to say this is the most comfortable, well appointed and CLEANEST motel room Ive had over the years. Definitely my first choice in accommodation. Thanks team!

Great greeting, very tidy and clean room, Chromecast not working, terrible slow internet, in the morning the was no hit water and not able to raise staff to sort so cold shower. Extremely noisey room being next to the road so very little sleep.

Hi ANONYMOUS Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Each unit has its own 180-litre hot water cylinder and we’ve not had any complaints about lack of hot water, if we had been made aware we would’ve absolutely rectified this situation as a cold shower on a cold morning is less than ideal! Our internet is normally fast, and our Chromecasts are all working – on the odd occasions where technology fails we will also do our best to fix it as quickly as possible. The units that are nearest to the street are double-glazed but they can be noisy if a window is left slightly open. We strive to provide a high level of comfort and service to our guests, however we can only fix issues during your stay if we’re made aware of them.

Clean spacious in Timaru
Clean large studio unit. Comfortable bed. Only one bedside light though. The unit wasn't serviced while I was there though. Apart from that, I would recommend it.

Good for stopover from Queenstown to Christchurch
Reception was warm and friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable for 3. It had a stove and microwave for preparing a simple meal. Beds were a little soft, though. Bath was nice and hot and water pressure good but do be careful not to stand under the shower when turning off the water was the water comes out cold quickly.

We did not really feel welcomed when we checked in and there was no house keeping during our stay even though they were supposed to provide it. Also although the room unit was clean when we arrived, everything in the unit was dated.

Great Stay Exceptional Service
The service was excellent and I felt welcome as a guest. The room was clean and the spa bath wonderful! My only complaint was the sides of the mattress had collapsed somewhat so I had to lie in the centre of the bed to stop myself rolling out.

A great host and a great property with complete amenities including Air Conditioning, Sky TV, all appliances including iron and board. The bed was extremely comfortable in a spacious room with a courtyard off our room. Everything was polished and clean.A great find in an underrated City that deserves more exposure.

Excellent Motel on Outskirts of Timaru
This was a superb Motor Lodge, well equipped & spotless. Good quality products in the Spa Bathroom & Kitchen. The best TV channel choices in our entire trip to South Island. Timaru is a great place to stop on route & to see some Blue Penguins!

Great place for a stopover
We stayed one night travelling between Christchurch and Dunedin. Owner went out of the way to organise a very late check in. Bed was very comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean. Had a great nights sleep. Owners take real pride and were delightful.

Just what we wanted
The Azure Ashley was exactly what we were looking for. It was our anniversary weekend away without the children. We wanted a nice comfortable studio unit with a spa, and a decent sized tv, and that's exactly what we got. The cooked breakfast was great, and at the requested time. We heard the occasional noise from trucks on the main road but it wasn't disturbing at all. I would gladly stay there again.

Great Spot to Recharge
Stayed here with my parents one night halfway to another destination. The place was great! Very spacious and comfortable and the man at check in was very kind. They have everything you need for a good rest, even wine glasses in the cupboard. This was a quiet location just on the edge of town.

a good location for stop-over
The Motel is on the major road to Christchurch so it's a good location for a stop-over, however it's 3km out of Timaru Town centre. We booked the room because of the spa in the room as it's the last day of our road trip, we wanted to relax in the spa, however we tried in both of our rooms following common sense - turned the switch and the button on but neither spa worked. As we were already in the bath tub we didn't ask for help so just had a bath instead. I discussed this with the owner when checking-out and he said we need to press a "reset" button which is near the wash basin, this instruction should have been provided when checking -in but wasn't. I guess may be the owner didn't want guest to use the spa.

Rooms were spacious, clean and tidy, nice little touches around the place, great bubbly spa bath. Nice and close to the botanic gardens which were amazing with autumn colours. Friendly informative staff, nothing negative at all about the stay - thanks very much
