One negative: For an unknown reason, their free shuttle to Kyoto Station did not begin service until 10AM - too late for many travelers and not long before their own required checkout time."

The hotel is next door to the Imperial Palace and a tube station so it is well located to explore the city. There are numerous places to eat nearby from very affordable to eye-wateringly expensive.
