Hotel has a great collection of glass art. Unfortunately, carpeting is run down, rooms only have black out curtains. First they gave us a room on the second floor, you could see people on the street and obviously they could see you. We asked for another room and they gave us one on the 18th floor. Was better but still no curtains. Fortunately we were so high it didn’t matter. Breakfast was so, so. Staff was friendly but bacon was tough as a shoe sole. We left with the impression they had financial problems.

I had higher expectations of the hotel based off previous reviews and it being described as ‘luxury.’ Our king room was average and needed a good dusting. The glass top bathroom counters had prints on them and overall you can see the room needed a good deep clean and some freshening up. The shampoo brand used smelled good but was low quality and left your hair feeling tough. Some pros, was that our bathroom was stocked with lots of towels & wash cloths which was great. The check in experience was hassle free & the staff were kind. The proximity of the parking lot to the hotel is easy & accessible-we never had to search for a parking spot. We didn’t really explore the hotel, it was overall just calm, well furnished but needed some minor straightening up when walking thru at the end of the night. The exterior of property was clean-maybe would suggest some well placed fresh floral pots/design by the entry ways to brighten up the facade.

The Murano hotel is conveniently located in downtown Tacoma in walking distance from the museums we wanted to visit. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and decorated with glass art. The only downside was that only 1 out of 6 EV chargers on the parking lot was for non-Tesla vehicles. And that place was taken by a car which was finished charging but the owner didn’t bother to free the parking space. I wish the administration of the hotel would monitor such situations.

Pro: Bed and pillows were clean & comfy. Con: The whole hotel smells like cheap cologne. They pump it through the air system. The elevator has old gum stuck in the carpet. Lots of wear and tear. We needed extra pillows our first night and could not reach the front desk. Called every five minutes for an hour and someone finally picked up. We had to reprogram our tv upon arrival since it wasn’t hooked up to the satellite. Good thing my husband is tech savvy or else we wouldn’t have had tv out first night. DO NOT get talked into adding on breakfast for $10 per person. They make it sound great - views of the mountain, nice relaxing sitting area, 24 access to snacks, drinks and breakfast. But in reality the snacks are PEANUTS and a can of sprite or coke. Those are the options. The breakfast food is equal to what you’d get from a gas station breakfast bar. Sausage that you can hardly chew- not sure if it was even real meat. Eggs that were artificial in look and taste. Days old fruit salad. Served in an overcrowded room with the news blasting at high volume. Cloudy windows from being old. No views that they spoke of. Parking is $30/ night. Our final bill should have been $80 but I just got a charge of $195 from the hotel. There were no incidentals, the room was in perfect condition upon leaving and I have not gotten a response back from the hotel. We will never stay here again. One star for the stress and hassle of needing to ask for a refund.

They bill your card for a $75 deposit for each day that you stay and also charge you $25 per day for parking. If I would have known this before, I would have chosen somewhere else

I had issues opening the door during my entire stay which was annoying, but the staff was very helpful and quick in resolving the issue! The A/C in the rooms was great and it was an overall enjoyable stay minus the issues with the door to the room.

Nice hotel, but the lobby and other common areas were COLD. I enjoyed the art and and it was easy to get over to the Tacoma Dome for a show. The rooms were a bit noisy, so be prepared if you are a light sleeper. Not a lot of food options close by if you are an early riser, especially on a Sunday morning.

The staff were wonderful, very friendly! Overall I felt this hotel was a great stay, however we were really surprised to find that there are no food vending machines available at this property. All they have is some chocolate and a few other snacks. We went to a concert Sunday evening with everything closed and not even able to grab some snacks at the hotel. I think offering this to your guests would improve a guest’s experience.

This hotel is not as advertised! Expedia and other sites market this as a luxury hotel, but it is dated, and feels dirty. Service at the on site restaurant was really slow, waiting almost ten minutes to be sat at the empty bar, and another half hour to get two drinks. Despite having three elevators, wait times were slow- at one point we waited five minutes for an elevator. Our room felt dirty, with huge stains on the carpet, spots in the bathroom missed with cleaning, rusting surfaces, peeling wallpaper. It was also so hot in the room when we first arrived, and the phone in the room wasn't working for us so I had to use my own mobile device to call down when needed. We ended up with a room that looked nothing like what was photographed online. Overall, just felt pretty disappointed and duped with what we got versus what is advertised. Be aware of that when booking!
