Lovely pub full of character. Lovely staff, Scarlett on the bar and another young man who both were very helpful and friendly. They play old-school groovy music and combined with their hospitality and the vintage nostalgia of the old English style pub, you feel like you're transported back in time. The sleeping areas are lovely and the bed and pillow very comfortable. A cute little kitchen area overlooking the city, and some lovely little touches including old photographs of Sydney on the walls also add to the nostalgic cozy vibe. Very clean bathrooms also. We will be back.

Obviously not a 5 star hotel but comfortable beds, clean and tidy rooms and shared bathrooms/kitchen, wonderful staff and a great pub downstairs.

Nice basic clean pub hotel. Free beers on arrival always a plus. Shared toilet n bathroom clean as so all good for the cheap enough price 👍👍

Such a perfect location to be in the heart of Sydney CBD. They even decorated the bed with rose petals and a complimentary bottle of wine for our honeymoon when they didn’t have to. Lovely place and extremely friendly people. Highly recommend, thank you again 😊

Staff here is great. And there are pub, kitchen and dining room at the ground floor which are good to enjoy. But it’s a bit noisy when other guests open and close door which means the doors are not that soundproof. The overall is good.

Unfortunately I had trouble ever getting contact with management. I didn’t receive replies when messaging and the number on their door went unanswered and mailbox full. Deb the cleaner was great and got me set up when I arrived. Unfortunately each time speaking with Mags it seemed like I was bothering her. I wouldn’t call this a hotel either but a hostile. If they were short staffed a print out left in room would have been helpful about the place amenities.

The entry to the hotel smelt like vomit, which extended up the stairs towards the rooms. Rooms was ok, didnt smell. Will never stay here again.

Everything was excellent except for the lack of air con. The evening was quite warm for March and sleeping was a little uncomfortable with just windows open and the fan on. I would still stay here again.

Lovely location but more hostel level

Lovely area and welcoming staff at the bar downstairs. Evenngot one free drink. The room upstairs is old matching the hotel. Not quite as nice as the pics suggest. I struggled with the convex bed. Stressful was the warning not to shower with the door open as the fire alarm would go off. Broken hand basin and no drinking glasses.

The room was spotless and well-ventilated, and the bed was super-comfy! There was a little kitchenette on my floor - and there were two kinds of tea and fresh milk in the fridge for guests to use. I have stayed in posh hotels that didn't offer either! If you like having a bathroom in your room, this is not for you, and if you aren't keen on stairs, there's no lift. But if you're looking for somewhere convenient to the city, which is inexpensive and comfortable, and feels like staying at someone's home, this is perfect.

This was a very good value for the price I thought. Location is good, although crossing the convention center at night is annoying for pedestrians since some of the doors are closed after dusk. The room was perfectly fine. Music noise was a problem but it stopped promptly by midnight when the bar closed. My bigger issue was with the bathrooms. First, shared bathrooms really need counter space because patrons have to bring their toiletries with them. But there's no place to put anything. Second, the toilet paper and bath soap, etc., were not always refilled, so bring your own or check before you commit. The bathrooms are cold in winter but the shower is nice and hot.

First of all my door did not have a lock if I knew that my door wouldn’t have a lock I would not of stayed there. And all you hear at night is the base from the bar. It did not have to be that loud.

Lovely stay!

Had a great experience from start to finish, check in was easy and we were given a free drink voucher on arrival by really friendly staff and the key to the room allowed us to come and go through a separate door after hours. The shared bathrooms were nice and clean and there was towels and shampo available. The beds were not the comfiest, but they were definitely fine, but the great price and great location as well as 15% of all food and drinks at the downstairs pub and restaurant more than makes up for that. I would definitely recommend this place for people with a lower budget that are still looking for a great accommodation that's close to the city.
