"Hotel was amazing and staff and food and hotel in general were wonderful. The spa treatment I had was amazing - spa facilities were small and could do with a bit of upgrading in areas. "
"Very quant old building in the centre of Petworth village. The rooms are very clean, nicely designed with beautiful bathrooms.
Mind your head! As a very old building the stairs are narrow and uneven as may present a challenge for folks with limited mobility."
"The stay was lovely and the hotel and all the staff were fantastic. The breakfast and evening meals were cooked to perfection a the location of the hotel ideal. I recommend a visit to anyone."

"Great staff, great location.
We stayed here to attend the Goodwood races.
We were looked after from start to finish with a friendly manner and great enthusiasm.
The facilities were very good and the restaurant offered good food at a reasonable price."
"It is next to a busy road but I didn’t hear it during the night. It is a very convenient short walk into town or to the castle or station. Breakfast was well served and tasty. Overall a very good experience."
"Lovely chap who checked us in and worked behind bar. Room small as we knew. Comfy. Nice shower and toiletries robes a slippers. Great biscuits tea a coffee.
Breakfast excellent. Waitress amazing worked hard.
In good area. Car park near. "
"Lovely pub and hotel. We walked here from the train station and didn't realise it would take that long. It took about 20/25 minutes to get to the city centre from the hotel. The rooms are lovely and the shower was great. The room sies get hot at night but there was a fan in the room. I would stay again but would cab it to and from."
"What a fantastic place to stay, the room was immaculate and well appointed. The staff / host were welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Arundel Castle is probably the best castle we've visited, and there are lots of pubs, restaurants and cafes in the town. What a fab weekend away!"
"St Marys Gate Inn looked extremely comfortable, clean and welcoming in the photo's online. Believe me when I say, it is much much more when you arrive.
Welcomed by Lola on arrival (we were much earlier than expected) we were shown a table for Sunday lunch straight away (Food is excellent both flavours and presentation). The room was exceptional, huge main area, immaculate bathroom, tea and separate coffee facilities in the room, two huge windows. Bed was very comfortable, just a very relaxing pleasant place to be.
Definitely recommended and I would definitely stay there again, hopefully for longer."
"A friend and I booked the cottage for a relaxing stay and the location and cottage were perfect. The cottage is decorated and furnished beautifully and is spotless. A few little treats from the host were left which was a nice touch."
Beautiful Iconic Listed Building with Views Overlooking the Arundel Cathedral
10/10 Excellent
"The house is beautiful, amazing character, beautifully decorated, perfect situation and proximity to the town, castle, restaurant and bars. The beds were extremely comfortable, everything was so clean and fresh. It was cosy and homely and a perfect getaway for a girls relaxed weekend. My only suggestions would be, blackout curtains/blinds in the bedrooms, the shower in the top bathroom is really not great. And the kitchen is very small for the amount of people staying. A few welcome essentials would also be a nice touch. Overall a fabulous property, thank you"
