Spacious Cabin on Cedar Creek, Shenandoah's hidden getaway!

Spacious Cabin on Cedar Creek - Make memories at Shenandoah's best hidden getaway! Cabin is on 30 acres of creek front property. Enjoy the quiet tranquility of the forest, take out the kayaks, do a little fishing, or visit our egg laying chickens.

Ideas for your Cabin Experience...

Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea before breakfast, taking in stunning views overlooking Cedar Creek from this two-level cabin, deep in the Virginia countryside.

Cool off in the creek at the local "Swimmin' hole", which ranges from 2 to 4 feet deep, or cast your line in the hopes of catching a brook trout, or other native fish. Bring your PFD, fishing rod, and water shoes. Two Kayaks are available to paddle about - or you can coordinate with your hosts for a 2+ hour kayaking trip on the creek. Extended trips may be dependent on rainfall. Additional charge will apply.

Relax in one of two hammocks in the front yard or lounge down by the Creek. Spend the cool mountain evenings roasting marshmallows by our natural rock fire pit - firewood is provided for guests. Watch fireflies dance among the trees, while you sip a glass of local wine from our two-tiered deck.

Virginia wildlife abounds - walk the trails along the creek, woodlands, and meadows of the Cabin's 30 acres. Sit quietly and you may just see a doe and her fawn, wild turkeys, or a fox or mink. Don't sit quietly and you might see a squirrel. ;) Enjoy wild edibles when in season: Wineberries, Hickory Nuts, Walnuts, and Pawpaws. Yum!

We also have chickens on the property. We don't have a rooster, so you won't be woken by "cockel-doodle-do" in the morning. You can sleep in.

We are a newly retired couple living in another house on the same property about .3 miles away. We will absolutely give you space to use the cabin as your own, but we are available if an issue arises. You may see us around the property gardening or tending to our chickens.

A perfect stay. Would be perfect for kids and adults of all ages. We brought our 2 year old daughter and our 3 month old son and it was perfect. Not only was the property perfect and well set up and the grounds beautiful for playing in the creek or hiking around, but Rich and Mary are the kindest and most accommodating hosts. We cannot recommend this place more highly We hope to come back ourselves!

If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful country setting, this is your place! We had a wonderful long weekend hiking, and visiting some of the local spots, but mostly just relaxing at the cabin. I really appreciated the comfortable beds and high-quality linens and towels. The soaking tub is fabulous! The deck overlooking the river was a favorite spot of ours. Highly recommend!

Cabin on Cedar Creek

The cabin felt remote like we desired but was also convenient to small communities for restaurants and such. The property was beautiful, and the hosts were especially great.

This place was everything we had hoped for and more. I was there for 3 nights with my kids (ages 6, 5, and 3) and we hardly left the property. They had so much fun playing in the creek and on the deck, but the highlights of the trip were the hammocks and roasting marshmallows. Rich and Mary thought of everything and truly provide a wonderful place for a family vacation.

Had a great stay on the Cabin on Cedar Creek. It was very peaceful. There were trails to walk on and the creek was clear and beautiful. My boys caught a few fish. We waded through the creek and used the canoe and kayaks. A very restful stay! Also, the hosts were very helpful and generous with fresh eggs and garden vegetables!

The location was gorgeous and peaceful. Sitting next to the creek was just the thing to releive stress. Rich and Mary were wonderful hosts. The fresh eggs were a real treat. One morning one of the alarms started chirping. We texted Rich and Mary and got a return text almost immediately. They got right on it right away and problem solved by the time we got back from our excursion. For anyone looking for some peace and quiet in an idyllic setting with great hosts, we would highly recommend it

Cabin in the trees along the creek .

We loved the peace & quiet . Enjoyed fishing , the swimming hole and walking trails . The cabin was homey - welcoming - open and spacious . The property was very well maintained and we enjoyed the watching the chickens. Rich & Mary were excellent hosts .

First Family Vacation

One of the cleanest most welcoming cabins my wife and I have ever stayed at. The entire experience was incredibly calming. Even my 9 month old son was calm and tranquil. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for relaxing get away.

Lovely, lovely, lovely!

This property exceeded our expectations in every way, beginning with a very warm welcome from Rich and Mary! We were in the area to take in a show at Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre, and we loved that this rustic but glamorous property was within 20-some minutes of the university and Old Town Winchester. Our adult children were thrilled with the nature that abounds at this cabin, the bubbling creek right out back, and the beautiful fire circle. I added three birds to my life list and loved hearing the Barred owls at night. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Remote Cozy Cabin

I love this little cabin. It's a quiet getaway with a beautiful view. Super clean with all the basics - and fresh eggs in the fridge from the chickens. Rich and Mary are incredibly welcoming and flexible.

Perfect escape

The cabin was very well kept and had great amenities on the land! We enjoyed every bit of reconnecting with nature, trying canoeing and making great homemade meals. The beds were so comfy and the all around atmosphere made it a perfect place to escape the busy life and reconnect! Rich and Mary are great hosts!!

My husband and 2 girls (11 and 12) had a wonderful time visiting this cabin. When they weren't outside exploring, they were inside relaxing, reading, drawing and enjoying some of the amenities provided by the property owners like hot cocoa. The hammocks, fire pit, hiking and creek were some of the outdoor highlights. Lots of giggles and happy memories. We are forever grateful to Rich and Mary for opening their home. We look forward to going back in the future. There is plenty more to discover!

Beautiful and peaceful!

This is a beautiful cabin with gorgeous natural light. The creek is very peaceful, and the location is definitely private (which is exactly what we wanted). Rich is a wonderful host and was very accommodating for our late arrival. Highly recommend!
