"I loved this hotel. The staff were friendly & helpful. The room & bathroom were clean, with good quality shampoo, body wash and hand wash by Dove. The bathroom door did double service as a door that could close off the toilet area, which was a little awkward, but did mean one person could potentially use the toilet while another was cleaning their teeth. The settee & bed were comfortable, and the desk area was great too. I think the bed was only a 4'6" double, rather than a king - but that was fine for me on my own. The "wardrobe" was just an open rail, and I don't think there was a single drawer in the entire room. I managed ok, but my wife would have moaned about the lack of drawers. I am used to Holiday Inn Express in America, with low quality breakfasts served on a paper plate, with plastic cutlery, so I found the included breakfast, with proper plates & cutlery much better than I expected - with a variety of top brand cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, croissants, Danish pastries, a variety of jams, marmalades, honey, marmite, etc for the toast - together with a hot selection of Cumberland sausages, bacon, scrambled egg & beans, with proper Heinz ketchup, plus HP sauce - with enough staff to clear & clean the tables promptly. I also enjoyed the cappuccino, and selection of other coffees, teas & hot chocolate, as well as fruit juice. The bar seemed to have a decent selection of drinks, and a pleasant buzz in the evening. This is definitely a great hotel for the money."

"The room was unique - with a view of the east window and spire of a medieval church ... from the bath positioned in the bay window. The bed was very comfortable and everything was clean and well presented. Staff welcoming. A good dinner and breakfast."

"We stayed as we were attending a family reunion in the area. Our daughter and family were also staying and we had family rooms which were spacious and clean with comfortable beds for all. Breakfast was separately taken in the adjoining inn and was excellent value for money - and freshy cooked!! "
