"The property is conveniently located in central Kaikoura, walking distance to New World and various takeaway shops. A few minutes drive to WestEnd St with all major restaurants on it. Even though on SH1, it is very quiet, very clean and pleasant. Our room on the 1st floor was vary spacious, had a table for 2 and a separate computer desk and a little balcony looking at the mountains. Plenty of parking space. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend. "

"I had a cabin for ‘a family of five’ - two double rooms and a well-equipped lounge room and kitchenette with a small back deck looking onto the mountains - everything was absolutely spotless, the staff were so friendly, and the owner even dropped me and my luggage at the railway station upon my departure! The only minor issues were the lack of screen doors or windows (with a lot of blowflies around), and the beds are pretty soft. If you like that kind of thing. The cabins were like older but renovated rooms with new carpet, paint, shower and kitchenette; fully equipped kitchen, medium fridge, microwave, flatscreen TV; dining table with four chairs, three-seater sofa and a couple of lounge chairs. Both bedrooms have built-ins and bedside table, the smaller with Mountain views, the larger facing the front (parking area) with blackout curtains. I will definitely be staying here again next time I’m in Kaikoura!"

"NB: we ended up at Edit just as a major storm warning was issued. The whole town was battered and power was out for 2.5 days. Edit has a backup generator, which powered the restaurant, shared spaces, heating etc. We were well catered for and staff put in extra hours to keep us comfortable. Roads were closed so fresh staff couldnt get in or out. Edit Hanmer went above and beyond during difficult times."
