"Awesome hotel in the perfect area! Best breakfast!"
We loved our hotel from check-in to check-out. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Our room was wonderful - they had everything we needed so it was really convenient for our stay. The front desk even had an HDMI cable so we could watch movies from our computer! So cool! Also - we weren't expecting it but we enjoyed the most amazing breakfasts every morning that was included in our rate. They had EVERY type of breakfast food, tea, coffee, juice, etc! It was fantastic! Our last day, we had to leave before the breakfast began but the front desk actually had breakfast sandwiches and juice ready for the early departers! So cool and I really appreciated it!!
Spent four days at The loft? I was a bit worried about lack of washing facilities in our room on the third floor but I got used to wandering up and down the corridor. However, in my 60s, you choose you time to avoid crowds.
The breakfast was really good and relaxed.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was more than adequate and consisted of a variety of juice, cereals, cold meats and bread. The hotel is only one stop on the J commuter line from Stockholm Central. If you are staying in Stockholm for a few days, it is worth buying a 73 hour pass, which entitles you to travel on all public transport in Stockholm. The J commuter line goes as far as Uppsala, 80 kms north of Stockholm. Uppsala is well worth a visit. I broke even on the first day I bought the pass.
The hotel is close to Sodra commuter station and is only a few minutes walk. However, make sure that you leave Sodra station at the right exit. When you alight the train take the Swedensborggaten exit. When you exit on to the street, ie Swedensborggaten, turn right out of the station, proceed straight up the street, passing Harry's Bar & Restaurant and turn left at the top of the street, which is a T junction. You will see the hotel sign. The nearby restaurants and pubs are okay.
Previous to visit was apprehensive about staying here, after reading reviews. However... My room was on the "alleyway" side of the hotel, on the opposite side to traffic / pedestrians, so room was very quiet. Temperature in room was perfect (outside was -3 C). Bed very comfortable. No minibar in room, but reception sells range of soft / alcoholic drinks which can take to room. Bathroom had range of towels and shower mat. Shower had to be turned up to nearly full heat to get hot water. Wifi did not require password, and worked well - no breaks in connection. Breakfast was of continental variety with fresh Croissants, breads, hams / cheeses, with hot bacon / sausages / scrambled & boiled eggs, with choice of cereal / yoghurt and selection of teas or coffee. Perfect for both tourist / business - 2 minute walk from tube station and close to royal palace and bars / restaurants / shops. Recommend paying the extra to stay on the quieter side of hotel, as even receptionist said other side can be noisy.
The location was wonderful, the staff very friendly and helpful. I had a bigger room, meant for two, which was spacious and did have windows. :) The room was very clean and the hotel was amazingly quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was simple but good. I would definitely go back there!
We stayed here for our first 2 nights in Sweden and we were up at night due to adjusting to the time difference. The evening manager was so delightful when we would make visits to the Lobby in the wee hours of the morning. Also, the service and food in the restaurant was excellent! I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
The hotel is part of a hospital so it looks like private rooms converted into hotel rooms. The bed was comfy and everything was clean. Staff were great and very helpful. Bit of a hike from the underground and buses only take pre-paid tokens. Very quiet and safe location. Restaurants nearby as well.
