Lovely hotel, great location

Really lovely hotel in an interesting old building and setting. The staff were really good and plenty of choice at breakfast. Good location near lots of restaurants and bars, minutes from Metro but on quiet street.

Hotel Hellsten Malmgård is a lovely place to stay. It has charm and character. Our room was spotless, staff were very welcoming, breakfast was great. We can’t fault it!

This is a very quaint and historic place to stay, and it does have atmosphere. However, the single room I stayed in had nowhere, apart from one hanging rail, to put any clothes. OK, for one night maybe but not for several. Maybe a bigger room would have had this facility? Not sure. No safe in room either, and very little space in the room. There is a pleasant small side room where one can sit to read and relax, but nowhere else. Breakfast is adequate but the room in which it is served is not really sufficient for the numbers on a weekend. Much queueing and hovering for tables going on. Safety is good, with a key entry system at the front gates and the area itself is always busy. Lots of decent restaurants and shops only a short distance away. If you plan to stay here, opt for a larger room would be my advice, even if you are on your own.

Great place to stay. The subway train can be faintly heard - not sure if it passes under the building. Would be nice if there were some food options to purchase in the evenings or after the breakfast ends at 10am (11 on weekends).

This is an out of the way property yet nearby transportation and some entertainment areas. Very quirky building. Parking was not easy and was very much self help, but overall a very easy to use option when visiting Sodermalm.

Charming hotel, but beware noise

Lovely building and great staff, but the rooms downstairs were awfully noisy, as you could hear every footstep from the above floors. Not ideal for light sleepers.

Beds were comfortable, very friendly reception, nice breakfast and in general we had a good stay. I have to say though, I was a bit underwhelmed by the standard and condition of the room. The photos on the page are very well made so it looks much better than in reality and I wouldn't say it was exactly worth the money we spent. But still it's a lovely place :)

I love this hotel. It is very charming and the staff is warm and welcoming. Sodermalm is a great part of Stockholm, with galleries, shops and restaurants, yet on the quiet side. It gives you the sense of living there instead of visiting in a tourist area. The only downside is the breakfast, which is sub par and crowded.

Mjuk säng

Väldigt charmigt rum, låg takhöjd (405), tyvärr för mjuk säng. Lite bättre belysning i frukostrummet behövs, oranget ljus är inte så bra för ögonen, allra helst när rummet är nere i ”. Källaren”. Annars är stället en pärla i storstan, man känner historiens vingslag.

Rekommenderas verkligen

Vi kom tidigt på dagen och fick rummet direkt. Klassisk byggnad, fint bevarad. Kaffe eller te när du vill från maskin som du sköter själv. En utsökt frukost med ett stort utbud. Jag kan inte annat än varmt rekommendera detta hotell. 200 m från Zinkensdamm tbanestation.

Ett trevligt hotell!

En trevlig historisk miljö men som gör att vissa delar av hotellet har låga tak/dörrar. Särskilt på de övre våningarna. En kväll hade varmvattnet tagit slut just som vi duschade. En god frukost som har det mesta.
Vårt dubbelrum på översta våningen. Mysigt men med ganska trångt badrum.

Underbart!

Jättemysigt hotell med lite "lantlig" känsla trots sitt perfekta läge på Söder med både buss och tunnelbana inom promenadavstånd. Rummet var litet och mysigt med ett litet loft. Frukosten var vällagad och hade allt vi tycker att en bra hotellfrukost ska innehålla. Extra plus att man kunde sitta ute och äta eller dricka kaffe på både baksidan och den härliga framsidan.
