Prince Rupert Hotel

"The room was on the small side for 2, we had to shuffle around each other several times, and close the wardrobe door to be able to pass to the bathroom. The bathroom was modern and a good size, lovely big fluffy towels. Plenty of toiletries provided, but one little thing that was lacking-a block of soap was provided but no soap dish and nowhere to place it when wet as the washbasin was round without any flat part. Breakfast was fine, not the biggest selection I've had in a 4 star hotel but enough to satisfy most people. There was a nice lounge with a bar which we used for a nightcap, and an outside courtyard but we had to request for that to be opened. Location was great, central and easy walk to everything in the centre. The staff were friendly and helpful."

"The room was clean, and the bed was comfy. The double glazed window didn't open and had 'blown' so full of condensation. The dining area and bar were in good order, some parts of the hotel looked in need of renovations/decorating. Breakfast was good, staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. I felt the immediate surrounding gardens would benefit from a big tidy up."

"Firstly I just want to point out how well kept the rooms are as well as the restaurant and reception area. Lovely hotel, friendly staff especially the staff we met at breakfast and on that note what an amazing breakfast it was, plus fresh eggs! We did have a wonderful stay. The one thing to let this hotel down was the pool, jucuzzi area. We felt it is in desperate need of an upgrade, lots of things not working but just the interior needs a bit of TLC painted and cracks here and there. My husband said the male changing rooms were awful and dirty. Over all a pleasant stay, loved the king bed in our room and glad we upgraded . We would stay again however wouldn’t book purely for pool facilities, pool is also very small which I know can’t be changed but is in need of a makeover."

"We stayed for one night and were very pleased with our choice. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Ok, it is a little dated but on the other hand the building is full of history and character. Parking on site at a discounted price very much appreciated considering its town centre location. There is no breakfast or restaurant facility, but who would not want to venture the few yards outside the hotel where you are spoilt for choice for lovely wide ranging places to eat. Look forward to staying here again."
