Great little gem in central France
Great little hotel in a small medieval village in central France. Lovely swimming pool and staff very good. Restaurant food was excellent and it is a very good option to rest for a few days in the region. The staff was able to assist us in getting help when we got stranded in the motorway.

Nice situation
The situation of the hotel was excellent- the pool area was lovely & the ground floor was warm & inviting. The room was disappointing & expensive for what it was. A very basic room - no mini bar no safe & no lift & no offers of help with luggage. Very basic amenities in bathroom - minimal unfluffy towels. Would definitely not want to stay more than 1 night. Bed was comfortable & bed linen was very nice & crisp. Check in was impersonal in the evening- staff were more friendly in morning. Restaurant was ok rather impersonal. Nobody asked how our meal was. Croissants at breakfast were still a bit frozen inside…& took sometime to arrive …

We do however have superior rooms which have the safe. For breakfast, it's a problem that I'm going to report to the teams, but we always have only compliments on the quality of our buffet. Very nice hotel - clean and comfortable. Pool, parking and high level restaurant. Staff was professional and friendly. Will definitely stay here in our next trip to Burgundy.

Perfect Recharging Stop!
Stayed here as a stop-over en-route to the Alps. It was very quiet when we stayed (Dec 2021), probably due to restrictions, and we had a fabulous meal in the onsite restaurant. A great nights sleep and a little walk around the beautiful little town and we were fully recharged to carry on our journey.

Un hôtel qui
Acceuil froid et sans charme. Quand nous somme arrivés, il nous a fallu attendre une bonne minute à la réception pour que quelqu'un daigne de lever la tête pour nous répondre. La chambre avait l'air sale et un des lits n'avait pas été préps draps étaient couverts de poils et nous avons dû demander qu'ils soient changés. Inquietant surtout pendant ces temps-ci avec le COVID-19. De plus, la climatisation ne marchait pas bien dans la chambre et il faisait trop chaud pour dormir. Le tapis dégageait une mauvaise odeur et la salle de bain n'avait pas l'air très propre.De plus, la climatisation ne marchait pas bien dans la chambre et il faisait trop us avons pris notre dîner en terrasse le soir mais on s'est soudainement reouvé entouré de guêpes et nous avons dû manger à l'intérieur du restaurant ce qui était dommage. Par contre, la serveuse principale était très accueillante, charmante et professionnelle comme d'habitude. Dommage que le reste de l'équipe au restaurant ne soit pas aussi professionnel. Et un conseil: n'allez pas à la piscine si vous voulez trouver du calme et un peu de repos... les familles avec les enfants savent abîmer tout ça. C'était notre deuxième visite à l'hôtel cet été et franchement nous étions encore plus déçu que nous l'étions la prémière fois. Ce qui est triste c'est que ça fait 25 ans que nous séjournons à l'hôtel mais à chaque fois l'équipe fait semblant de ne pas nous reconnaître. Cela vous donne peut-être une idée de leur service client.

Great for a baby
First holiday nwith our new baby. They put a travel cot in our room and gave us a nice table outside for dinner which a bit out the way. Food and wine was excellent.

The hotel is fantastic. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast substantial and yummy and the staff, simply amazing. The location is stunning and a short drive to the most magical, medieval town of Semur en Auxois. If you're exploring Burgundy, Semur en Auxois and this hotel is a must!

A hotel worthy of recommendation
We have stayed here on numerous occasions while travelling. High standards are consistently maintained. Semur is well worth visiting, the hotel grounds are attractive and the restaurant is very good.

Great hotel on the edge of Semur-En-Auxois
We stayed at Hostellerie d'Aussois for one evening as we explored the local sites of Semur-en-Auxois. The location of the hotel was handy and just a 20 minute walk into the heart of the town or a 5 min taxi ride, opposite the hotel is one of the towns best vantage points and a great place to take some panoramic photos. As for the hotel itself, the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. There's a swimming pool located on site alongside a bar and restaurant which served good food, there's also ample parking if you need it. We found the staff to be friendly and they were more than happy to help with any requests we had (both in French and English). I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're exploring the area and I would have no hesitation in booking again.

Great Location and Views
This is a clean and accessible hotel in the countryside with incredible views of the medieval city across the river valley. The staff was nice and the room was clean and comfortable. The two things that struck us as mediocre was the food in the restaurant and the fact that we had to slam our door when leaving because the latch was stiff and would not close without force. Other than that, a good experience.

An attractive, well-managed hotel on the outskirts of a beautiful medieval town. Good quality breakfast, a very good restaurant though not open on Sunday evening.

Friendly staff, great location
Really nice hotel with good food, suberb location on the edge of Semur-En-Auxois. Staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Pool was great in the evening since the weather was so good during the stay.

Shame about the Food
The hotel well placed for an overnight stay and a very nice pool. Reception staff very friendly and the room quite adequate for an overnight stay. Unfortunately after reading reviews re evening meals we chose to eat there instead of venturing out into the town. The food was not good and I had to send both my main course and desert back. I tried to complain and was amazed and very annoyed by the attitude of the waiter, who basically told me that I did not know what I was talking about and that the food in London was by far and away worse (I am actually Australian) and at no time did I mention food elsewhere! The following morning I spoke to Reception staff and had a very helpful lady make reparation by way of a refund on items returned and a free breakfast by way of apology. Such a shame that a hotel should employ staff that detract from the overall quality of a stay. Breakfast was good but I would not be in a hurry to return.

Front desk staff was very nice, suggested and made a reservation for us for dinner in Semur. The hotel is great if you have a car as it is a mile or two from the old city with plenty of parking and a great view, especially from the pool (which was great but unheated, didn't stop my kids!) Rooms were clean, comfortable and functional - a little small but very typical for Europe. Thumbs up.

Hotel looks bland/basic (nothing fancy), but room and staff make up for it. It is about a 10 min walk to town, they have a bar and breakfast (skipped breakfast), their dinner was very good, highly recommend it. Everyone there is very helpful, accommodating, and cheerful.

Our stay was wonderful! The staff could not have been more helpful. We spent two days and it was perfect. The location outside the city gave us plenty of parking and an easy get to and back to location. One night we ate at the Michelin rated resturant and it was very, very good. I celiac disease and the staff was very helpful in helping me chose the right entrees. ( you should try their rabbit!!! ) at breakfast there was also much to chose from. Cold cuts. Cheese, eggs, bacon, etc.. If I ever get back that way again I know where I will stay. The rooms were very clean and the bed was roomy and comfortable.

Fantastic hotel in France
The staff were excellent and very helpful. We are kiwis and speak very little French so we found the staff were patient and helped us with pronunciation etc. this location is one of the most beautiful we have ever been to. We recommend eating in the restaurant at the hotel as opposed to anywhere in the village, the food is awesome and prices are good. All up, an excellent experience all round!!

Perfect location for overnight from Calais to Med, less than 10 mins from motorway, and very easy to find. Large free carpark. Too far out of town to walk, but all amenities in hotel. Friendly staff. Good quality and clean room and bathroom with comfy bed. Enjoyable dinner, but wine a bit expensive. Breakfast was generally very good, with plenty of choice and fresh food - except.....Trays of bacon with scrambled egg not kept hot, and ran out by 0830. On enquiry told that there was no-one in the kitchen to cook any more, despite the dining room still being fairly full and still within allocated breakfast time. So, when the cooked breakfast has gone, it's gone! But, would still be happy to stay there again.

The staff was wonderful, location perfect, 15 minute leisurely walk to the city center. The breakfast was very well done, fresh food, not premade from the market. I'd stay there again without hesitation.

Sehr schöner Zwischenstopp
Alles in allem schöne Unterkunft. Wir waren zum 2x da. Beim ersten Mal sehr zufrieden, dieses Mal hatten wir Pech mit dem Zimmer. Der Teppichboden war verfleckt und sah unappetitlich aus - Zimmer 233. Personal sehr freundlich, Frühstück sehr gut, 15€ pP, grosser Parkplatz!

Pleasant hotel in medieval setting
Very pleasant Hotel on the edge of Semur, which is a gem if your are interested in romantic medieval towns. The hotel is modern, clean and the hotel-staff kind. When we complained about the air-condition making high pitched noises the staff was responsive, even though the issue could not be fixed on the spot. The restaurant serves excellent food and the staff is very attentive. I would come back here any time.
