Once we figured that out we went from: what did we get ourselves into, to a well done up room. The bathroom was a bit cramped but overall for the price we paid we had a very nice room. "The property is rather new so everything is quite clean. The bed was a bit lumpy. The heating was temperamental and shut off in the middle of the night when it was the coldest. They did follow up with me on the second night to assure me they had fixed it, but it still shut off in the middle of the night for the second night in a row. I would still recommend this place because the communal kitchen makes a big difference in comfort and convenience. Just put on a sweater at night as it gets...

"Amazing suburb area to stay near Garmish"

"Even after a barrage of emails in German over a period of several months, the entry procedures did not work. It was almost impossible to reach the host. A resident or manager? On the property was disheveled, disinterested, and boardering on rude. The rural dwelling was dark and surrounded by the smell of manure. They had not provided towels and couldn’t understand our request. The tiny room photos are somewhat misleading. The off-site host grew impatient with us and suggested we lodge elsewhere;...

"Very cute guest house. I liked our room and it’s terrace, the breakfast was good. The owner was friendly and helpful. Its also very convenient to Zugspitze and Garmisch. Overall a very nice stay."

"Alpenhotel Allgau has a good location in Schwangau, close to the Neuschwanstein Castle, Hohenschwangau Castle, Museum of the Bavarian kings. The rooms were small and the beds were rather hard. The breakfast was a essentially a continental breakfast of rolls and coffee. The signage is poor and the entrance is hard to spot. Check in was easy but checkout was difficult because their credit card processing machine didn't work and had to be re-started.I wouldn't stay there again but rather will plan...
