"The location is great. The place is renovated. The building is old with wood floors, which made the noise from guests in the hallway and upstairs is very loud and interrupting the sleep. "We loved our little apartment within the castle walls! Wonderful communication and assistance from the hosts, very clean and well-supplied, and very comfortable. The location requires an uphill walk from the historic center, but a frequent bus is also available. We enjoyed escaping to the charming, small streets of the castle in the evenings and were surprised at how quiet it was. Highly recommend!"

"We only stayed here one night, but we had SUCH a positive experience! We booked the cheapest room, but upon arrival we were upgraded to Room 509, which felt like a penthouse--4 beds, a second-floor sitting room, amazing balcony overlooking downtown! Obviously my review might be a bit biased due to that awesome experience, but I still think our overall take is accurate. The staff was so helpful and easily available, the location is prime, super easy access to everything, the rooms are clean, though ours needed a little minor maintenance, like the stair rails to our little loft, which were a little wobbly, but those "downsides" are so minimal relative to the value (even if we hadn't been upgraded). The breakfast situation is AWESOME--not only are you in that gorgeous dining hall, but the selection of fresh pastries, juices, and all the breakfast staples, plus a superautomatic espresso machine (which was AWESOME) and alternative milk options (not part of the superautomatic, but you can make a regular espresso and add some oat milk or whatever). Our room was quiet, but I do see how it might be noisy if you had a room that was lower/closer to the street, and to be fair, we were there on a Monday night and not in the peak season. But we had a great experience and I would absolutely stay there again if I wanted to be in that area of Lisbon!"

"My husband and I stayed at the Mundial Hotel in Lisbon from May 19 to May 22, and we spent three nights there. The hotel has a fantastic location, making it easy to reach major attractions and go on tours. It’s a decent hotel, but there were some downsides. First, the breakfasts were really disappointing—the selection was very limited and left a lot to be desired. Also, the pillows were extremely uncomfortable, so we didn’t sleep well. Our room faced the street, and the soundproofing was really poor—we could hear sirens, cars, and general noise at night. On the positive side, housekeeping was decent, but the hotel lacks a gym or any special amenities. When we went to the restaurant, it was completely empty even though it was open. Overall, for a four-star hotel, it definitely didn’t meet expectations."
