Holiday Inn Express Waikiki by IHG

"This was a return trip to Honolulu but a new hotel. I wanted to do it at a discount, but I was afraid because of a lot of the things in Hawaii can be a lot older and I wasn’t sure what I was going to get my stay at the Holiday Inn express was wonderful. It was less expensive than many of the other options. The location was perfect. The rooms are smaller, but I roomed by myself and I love that they had the option for the high floors or the low floors I prefer low, but they had offered me a high floor. I feel like it was the best choice I made in hotel options and I would definitely stay there again."

"Positive: 1. The breakfasts on the 21st floor were excellent. Good variety, good quality and lovely view. 2. The elevators were operated on an individual 'select floor' basis which is extremely efficient. We never had long waits and the elevators were never over-crowded. 3. The housekeeping (cleaning) service was excellent and always done on time. We were especially grateful to one of the cleaning staff (Alona) who was cheerful, friendly and did a wonderful job keeping our room tidy and clean. Negative: 1. We paid for 3 hours of late checkout (at a rate of $30 per hour), but our key cards were invalidated at the regular check out time. Fortunately someone was still in the room and was able to let me in. Perhaps this was an oversight, but it should not have happened."
