"Maria Cristina is undoubtedly a beautiful, characterful hotel. The Basque welcome from reception was really appreciated. We received a lovely glass of the local wine and the person who checked us in was so pleasant and helpful and that theme continued throughout. The reception and door staff couldn’t do enough. We had room 301. An upgrade from the garden view we had booked. A spacious room, very comfortable bed, Byredo products. On the downside there weren’t any tea / coffee making facilities!...

"This was a small boutique hotel just outside of old town San Sebastian. It was very clean and comfortable with an amazing shower. When you make your reservation, make sure to contact them at least 24 hours in advance so they can email you the check in instructions, as there is no reception desk there. They will ask for a photo of your passport or a number. They will email you this or contact you via WhatsApp to get it. Sounds strange, but it worked out great. I would stay here again with my wife...

"Great location in the heart of everything. Easy to walk to sites, restaurants and shops. Asier who worked the front desk was very helpful with tips on what to see and where to eat. All his suggestions were fantastic. Coffee was readily available in the lobby as well. We actually left some sunglasses behind, and Asier was kind enough to send them to us. "

"Hotel is clean and modern. Easy to park in underground garage. Great breakfast. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel. It is about 30 minute walk to the beach and 45 to the old part of the town. Staff speaks English and is very helpful"
