"Had a great stay at the Riu Flamingo Resort! The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and there were plenty of food options to choose from. There was always something to do, making for a fun and relaxing vacation. I would definitely stay here again!"

"The room was clean and housekeeping would clean up very nicely. The staff were so friendly, helpful and nice. The staff from the restaurant sal & pimienta (Claudia, Linda and Rhenata) did an amazing job. A shout out to the Japanese restaurant staff too for making my birthday so memorable. Thanks to Paquel, Carlos and the rest of the staff for an amazing time. The reception staff made my check in and checked out so well. The poolside always clean 👌 I love this hotel and would recommend it."

"The hotel is enormous! Initially, I was concerned about securing dinner reservations, but there are so many restaurants that it's never an issue getting a table. Even at the more popular spots, like the French restaurant and the steakhouse, there was never a significant wait. The resort is lovely and offers plenty of activities. I'm really glad we upgraded to the Preferred option because the bars were better, and the food and drink service at the preferred pool was a wonderful treat while on vacation. Additionally, having a concierge check in with us daily for any requests was very helpful. Using the app for room service was also convenient and easy to navigate. If I had to point out one downside, it would be that the pool with the swim-up bar closes at 6 PM, which feels a bit early since the sun is still out at that time. Also, if you're looking for entertainment, there isn’t much available here. There was a small speakeasy with a DJ that started at 11 PM, but that was about it."

"For a solo traveler this was not an enjoyable birthday weekend stay for me. To get decent room service you had to be an elite member (no take away was allowed, only a few options for non-elite members), to get a cabana (even for an extra cost) you had to be an elite member, to get a dinner reservations you had to be an elite member (otherwise wait times were more than 1.5 hrs)…. AND….there was no ability to purchase elite status on arrival (sold out). I went off site and took an Uber to eat dinner most nights. I understand that alcohol cut off was 5 pm at the pools. There is no transportation between the hotels. At the other related hotels you could visit but… couldn’t eat dinner. All and all…. The room was nice, the facilities clean, the staff was nice… but I’d pass to go somewhere that actually treated me as a valued guest regardless of my elite member status."

"Overall, my stay had some significant frustrations, but the staff helped make the experience better. The biggest issues were with maintenance. My room door stopped working, and I had to wait about 30 minutes for someone to come fix it. Later, my air conditioner also stopped working, which was disappointing. I also found the resort confusing to navigate, the beach access was very small, and the prices in the souvenir shop were extremely overpriced. On the positive side, the staff were excellent—friendly, professional, and always willing to help. I especially want to recognize Gabriela from housekeeping. When my door stopped working, she immediately got on the radio and contacted every available channel to get someone to my room as quickly as possible. Her sense of urgency, dedication, and willingness to help made a huge difference. Gabriela, thank you for going above and beyond—you are amazing! While the resort has areas that need improvement, employees like Gabriela are a true asset and deserve recognition."
