"Good experience to stay in traditional Japanese house.clean and kitchen well equipped. Washing machine was convenient. Due to it being an older building, insulation isn’t very good and gets very cold in the winter and need heaters in all rooms. Location is not great as it is walking distance to most places. Bus stop 7 minute walk. Could have provided more furniture such as chairs. Overall nice experience besides being on the cold side."

"The house and concept is great though there are a few things to note before booking. It's very spacious. Use of kitchen and laundry is a bonus. Well heated. The bathroom is accessed by going outside and you can see right through so make sure the curtains in the main house are closed if you are with friends or family (no privacy possible from bathroom side). "What a beautiful little house! It was lovely to have an authentic Japanese home base to return to every day. The house is in a residential area away from the city centre, so it's extremely quiet and relaxed. We felt completely safe and secure in the house, and I was very comfortable even without the aircon - the house was surprisingly insulated. "This was a great place to stay if you like off the beaten path, the Nijo Castle was right next to it. Because it was off the beaten path, eateries/stores were not as convenient but there were still accessible just not as plentiful if staying in the city. The only downside to say was the towels were few and small with no where to hang, other than that it was great value for you dollar."

"We travelled as a family of 4 with 2 young adults. They thought it was real cool place. It had authentic character and we liked the tatami rooms and mats. We also liked that we had the place to ourselves. It felt liked we lived in Kyoto and walked in the back alley to our home. It was great to have more space than a hotel room. Good quiet central location and close to transit and those popular convenience stores. The experience here was memorable as much as sight seeing in Kyoto. Enjoyable!"

"It’s simply an amazing accommodation. Very comfortable, cosy and convenient for a small family. It’s built very nicely with authentic Japanese architecture and having breakfast there every morning was a joy. The location is also very close to Omiya Station and easily accessible, a quiet neighborhood with nearby Bar and Pizzeria.
