Brilliant location right next to Kyoto station. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast buffet with wide range of options. Grand hotel- a step back in time. It had everything we needed. Sad to see that it will be closing in 2027 when the leasehold arrangement ends

Good location, right in front of Kyoto train station. Shops and restaurants everywhere. Only downsides are: no onsite laundry and the bathroom is the worst, there is no exhaust fan, so every time you take shower, the whole bathroom turns into a steaming room.

The hotel location is 2 minutes walk from Kyoto train station and it’s super convenient to ride the train or bus to see the major attractions. The breakfast has a lot of different yummy Japanese and western dishes to choose from.

Fantastic staff even with a little language barrier they were always willing to help us. Location couldn’t have been better, right in front of the Kyoto station. Room very well maintained and spacious. Great choices for shopping and eating, all in walking distance. Very safe neighborhood. If we go back to Kyoto I will choose this hotel again.

Judging by the facade and facilities, the hotel has probably a great history. Checking in and out was a smooth process. Staff were polite and friendly. Hotel conveniently located opposite Kyoto train station. Unfortunately, the hotel will cease its operations once the lease expires. A historical landmark will be gone by 2027. Will miss the charm of the hotel and staff. Thank you for your service and hospitality.
