Uncover the mysteries and wonders of the universe at the Western Australia science and technology centre. This is a real hit with younger visitors but there’s plenty for people of all ages to enjoy here.The Scitech centre goes out of its way to ensure that its exhibits and attractions are particularly appealing to children. The Scitech is therefore interactive, and children will love to get their hands on educational exhibits about science, technology, engineering and mathematics. There are over 100 hands-on exhibits contained within this modern complex, which has been entertaining families from all over the world for over 25 years. The planetarium is a particularly popular attraction as are the daily puppet shows. Many of the exhibits will delight children and adults alike. The Up, Down and Around exhibit explores the principles of motion and momentum. In the Kinetic Contraption, you can send balls hurtling around stainless-steel tracks, using levers and pulleys, while learning about kinetic energy. The Energy Zone is all about how electricity is produced and works and the Science Fiction, Science Future section gives an insight into the amazing technology that may become part of our everyday lives in the future.The Scitech is also home to the Think Tank, which assesses how medical researchers are currently working towards a cure for numerous deadly diseases. Experience what life would be like without sound at The Sonic Science exhibit. Very small children aren’t left out either. They’ll enjoy Discoverland, aimed at children under the age of seven.Pick up a few souvenirs at Scitech’s on-site shop. For a bite to eat, there are places on site that serve food suitable for both children and adults. Scitech is located in West Perth, about 1.6 kilometres from the city centre. It’s open daily except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Scitech can be reached easily on foot, by car or by train.
