Lookout Lodge - A Rocky Mountain Getaway with Views: only 1.5 hours from Denver
8/10 Good
"We had an excellent stay at this beautiful mountain home! The house is spacious and well-equipped with a fantastic kitchen, comfortable beds, and incredible mountain views from the decks—perfect for family downtime and evening fires. One cool highlight was our daughter using her telescope for stunning full moon views from the property. The hosts were responsive and helpful throughout. Highly recommend for a scenic Colorado getaway.Key Highlights:• Clean room — Spotless and thoughtfully prepared.• Host — Great communication and quick to assist with questions.• Kitchen — Fully equipped and a joy to use.• Mountain view — Stunning panoramas that made every day (and night) special.A couple notes for future guests (especially in summer):• Upstairs can warm up on sunny days (no A/C), but opening windows creates a nice cross breeze and downstairs stays cooler. Bring lighter blankets, as the provided ones are cozy winter-weight.• Water pressure was lower than expected (especially sinks and washer, though showers were fine). We discussed with the host—they promptly contacted their plumber and suggested troubleshooting (flipping the well breaker), but it wasn’t fully resolved during our stay. Not a dealbreaker, just something to note. We’d return in a heartbeat—thank you to the hosts for a memorable trip!"
Pretty Rocky Mountain Retreat ~betw Buena Vista & Breck
10/10 Excellent
"Large cabin stocked with more towels and dishes than I have in my own home. Very comfortable for family of 6. 4 Bikes and games for them to use. Cabin is a bit off the beaten path on a gravel road. If you have mobility issues getting into the shower is a challenge as the tub is very deep. There is no AC which wasn’t an issue although many windows were missing screens making it a little tricky. Overall a very nice place to stay. Host was very quick to respond to our questions."
