Great little cottage
Our stay was for work and we were very very pleasantly surprised at this cottage. It was very comfortable, clean and quiet. It made a great get away even tho we were working.

Country feel
A lovely, quiet accommodation in the country. Great for our three adults, everything we needed and countryside to boot. Spectacular night skies as well. What's not to like?

Two day breather
We were warned that it got cold at night but the heat pump and blanket’s kept us warm. Had a really great breather just reading books and sleeping! We would love to have stayed two weeks not two days 🥰 I gather work is still being done on the property so look forward to under floor insulation as that would be the icing on the cake. Other than that all amenities were brilliant! Thanks for a great stay, the wine and the goodies ❤️

Delightful location, comfy cottage
A better rural setting would be hard to find. A well-restored cottage provided a most enjoyable two night stay while we spent quality time with a seriously unwell brother. Thank you for a restful couple of nights for an elderly couple and their chauffeur daughter.

Peaceful and Serene
A well appointed, and very comfortable restored cottage in Raukawa. Super quiet, surrounded by rolling hills, and fantastic roads for road cycling. Great deck to have breakie or a glass of vino. Enjoy easy wifi, and SkyTV. If you're looking for a place away from the crowds, nature all around, and don't mind a little ride into town, then this is the place for you. Great friendly owners too!

Peace and quiet for Christmas
A very comfortable cottage with everything you need. Private and shaded made for a very relaxing few days. It is peaceful apart from local wildlife and a few cars going past (50-60m away from the cottage). The owners dogs are lovely and welcoming and, we found, very obedient. We will definitely be looking to return. Very close to Hastings. Excellent value for money.

100% Awesome place, awesome people
Beautiful cottage, absolutely pristine, with all that you need and more for a relaxing stay. Comfy beds, slept so well here. Made to feel so welcome by hosts Raewynn and Paul, who go above and beyond, two of the loveliest people you would wish to meet. The finishing touches were wonderful. Recommend this place 100%. this cottage is way better than the pictures tell, we had a cold snap and the heat pump was efficient and effective to keep us all cosy. My parents are in their 80s and found the king single beds so comfy and restful. The queen bed is amazing also and so sleeping is restful. The kitchen is really well appointed and same with the bathroom and laundry. The owners are very nice and helpful if you need them. The surrounding area is extremely beautiful for bike rides and walks. I would go back again and consider this great value for money.

Perfect piece of paradise
We really enjoyed our stay here in what we would call a piece of paradise. Beautiful relaxing setting. Lovely clean cute cottage. Not far to drive to Hawkes Bay attractions. We felt very welcome. Owner of property was really lovely leaving us homemade loaf and honey. Answered all our questions promptly. We arrived late at night and Raewynne even kindly called us to make sure we had received the instructions on how to find property. Our children enjoyed playing with the little dog. We wished we could stay longer and would love to stay again.

Rural idyll
The cottage is beautiful, set in its own garden with everything you need, and anything else, you just have to ask. We had fresh veg which we picked from our host’s garden, sublime. The beds were really comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and bathroom luxuriously fitted. We could’ve stayed forever, lounging on the deck enjoying the sounds of the birds in the trees. Wonderful

Fabulous cottage!
What a wonderful cottage - generous size and everything we needed. Lovely touches like flowers from the garden and fresh eggs were very appreciated. It is quite a drive from town but we would definitely stay here again.

We loved our weekend spent at Matehaere Cottage, the surroundings are beautiful & so relaxing.
The hosts are very friendly & accomodating, the personal touches left in the cottage, fresh flowers in the rooms, cookies, fresh milk, appreciated everything. The cottage is lovely & clean, the surroundings just make a 4.5 hr trip make it all worth while, hope to be back sooner than later. Thanks to our wonderful hosts.

A Special Wee Cottage!
Loved our very brief stay - the cottage is just gorgeous, clean, spacious, comfortable, with everything you could want. The fresh eggs and milk were an absolute treat, and lovely touches with the flowers. Location is magical, so peaceful, gorgeous setting, and wow, how bright the stars are at night! We will be back for a longer stay next time.

Beautiful cottage in beautiful surroudings
A very beautiful and charming cottage. There were fresh flowers and eggs when we arrived and our children had gotten a small toy each on their beds. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcomed and had a really nice stay. Would love to come back.

Such a beautiful cottage, in a fantastic location. Great hosts and well appointed.
Beautiful, well appointed cottage in a fantastic relaxing location. Close to wineries and short drive to Hastings and Havelock North for essentials. Also lovely to have some fresh farm eggs on arrival from the friendly chickens. We’ll definitely come back and look forward to exploring more of the beautiful Hawke’s Bay and relaxing in this gorgeous cottage.
