"Very little if any spoken English which made it hard to communicate with any staff members. Very much so a more visited resort from locals in Mexico. Food was below average with very few options to pick from and same stuff day after day. Nathalie our server at the outdoor bar was the best part of our trip! She was very nice and always attentive and had drinks to us the whole day. "

"Riu Emerald Bay was an amazing place to visit. The rooms were clean and the staff was polite. We loved the pool and swim-up bars. The restaurants provided a great variety of food and the poolside cafe at Pepe's was really convenient for midday snacks. I would definitely suggest visiting the spa for a massage. The steam room had a wonderfully minty scent. If I had to change anything I would say turn the temperature up in the hot tub. We had a wonderful time from the beginning to end of our trip. "

"Everything was perfect. Relaxing atmosphere with live entertainment in the afternoon. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options. The evening buffet had a different theme every night. For those who play it safe with food options they also offered pizza, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, and french fries. The snack bars had plenty of options from hamburgers, fries, nachos, fried rice, chicken and shrimp chow mein, and sushi. The servers were wonderful. Everyone was friendly and wanted to make sure you were taken care of. Rooms were cleaned and re-stocked daily. The only issue (and it wasn't terrible after being in the sun all day) the water for showering didn't get very warm. "

"For a brand new building, the rooms are just blah. Zero amenities, poorly thought out and lots of issues already. Door is tough to unlock, hot water takes forever and the terrace on our room was not worth it. Bigger reason for the poor score is the beach scene is non existent. Whoever designed this building on prime beachfront real estate should be embarrassed. Also, the pool closes at 7???? The breakfast is outrageously expensive and not worth it all. Would not recommend."
