I think the hotel deserve good reviews. The location is perfect and the hotel ambience adds to the old Quebec experience. The staff are friendly and accommodating… and the room felt like living the Quebec life. I love it there and would like to go back.

The hotel is full of old-world charm, cozy and quaint, with everything you need for a comfortable stay in a location that is easily walkable to all the upper and lower town attractions. The staff were very friendly, too, and parking was so convenient, right beside the hotel.

This hotel is a historic building so expect imperfections in the finishes, but the host was very warm and welcoming, free muffins, snacks for the kids and even bottles of juice were provided free of charge. We were in the main floor room near the door and it was still very quiet. This place is a piece of history and it’s right on the boardwalk with immediate access to all of the main sights in Quebec City! We were there during one of the heat waves and the air conditioning kept our room cool and comfortable. Would stay again!

It's an older building, with all that implies. In particular, we were on the fourth floor with no elevator — fine for us, but something to be aware of. On the other hand, the location is literally the best, with easy access to both upper and lower tourist areas plus Plains of Abraham and the fort. The staff are *top notch*. The little goodie baskets were a nice touch. If you're more interested in character than modernity, this is a fantastic choice.

The Hotel Dufferin is a quirky old building with lots of interesting features. The staff were very helpful. The location is fabulous! The terrace boardwalk is right outside the front door and you are in the heart of the old walled city.
