A lot of things looked rundown giving. The AC didn't work properly a couple of times. My wife's room had connection issues with WIFI. The TV in her room didn't work. There was some flooding in both bathrooms.

In all honesty this hotel should not be consider 4 stars. It should be more 3. My room needed a lot of upgrades. My room was outdated with furniture and there was a lot of dead bugs found behind the beds.

I’m sorry but what you see on internet is not what you see at the property. I felt I was staying in a cheap motel. Old equipment, dirty kitchen and I didn't have soap to wash my hands and body and the shower was in terrible condition. The worst part to be in punta cana

Disgusting!!!!Didn't meet my standards, I didn’t read the reviews because Expedia usually have good hotel listings, so from now on I will read reviews before booking hotels. We checked out after 15minutes when we saw the room, we went to Grand Sirenis Hotel and Resort and this hotel was great! I don’t need to revise my review on Hotel Tropicana.

This “hotel” is TERRIBLE! In short… check in started at 2pm, we got into our room after 5pm. They gave us the wrong room, with beds that didn’t fit us. Our actual room was TERRIBLE… the bed kept falling apart during the night while we were sleeping so we had to get up to put it back together… the mattress and pillows are sooooo uncomfortable! The AC was barely working and was leaking water into the room. The floor and couch were SOAKED! We were mopping floors at 10pm during our vacation! The towels were horrendous and left you almost as wet as when you got out of the shower. Customer service was RUDE and that’s IF you were able to find them… it was a miracle if you found anyone in the front office and if tou did, they were anything but helpful. Rooms only get “cleaned” every 2 days. They provided NO hand soap, NO paper towels, 3 spoons and ONE single fork for our room. We regret the very moment we booked this “hotel”… definitely the one and only negative to our vacation was the entirety of the stay at this place The only positives about this place are its location, which is close to the beach, pharmacy, mini market, restaurants, etc, and the fact that the area felt fairly safe at all hours.

My tv didn’t work when you try to get help the staff say only speak Spanish they dont seem interested to help u then u have to go off the property for breakfast the bed was so low it give back pain. Then you have these guy outside the hotel selling cigars and females hate this place

Do not book this property!!!!! This property is unsafe. I arrived and was given some cardboard colored cards which we were to use for our breakfast every morning! A screwdriver looking key was given to us for entry into our room. The entry was through a back patio door that was unsecured when we arrived! As I slid the patio door open a strange man exited the room running towards the front of the property where he was no longer seen! I could see the room was filthy, moldy and old! I immediately returned to the officer where I located the female that checked us in outside hanging with strange men! I explained what just happened at our room and that I could have been robbed, raped, or killed! She didn’t seem to care but joked in Spanish with another woman!!!! This are is in the poorest part of the Dominican Republic. It’s in the hood and this property is like a cheap motel where pimps take their prostitutes to sell their bodies! The pictures that are being displayed on Expedia is a lie! Strange men are hanging around the gates that are not secured as well as women walking up and down the street looking for a date! This property attempted to keep my money and refused to answer any calls. Expedia acted swiftly and very professionally, making sure my refund from the property will be credited back to my credit card.! THIS PROPERTY IS NOT SAFE FOR ANYONE TO STAY ESPECIALLY WOMEN. I AM GOING TO DO A BLOG ON THIS PROPERTY TO GET THIS PROPERTY BANNED! not safe for Americans

What everyone says is true, do not stay here. Left after one night. There were mosquitos everywhere when we entered our room. The bathroom looks like it hasnt been cleaned in years, the shower head doesnt stand and the waters cold. The kitchen sink was overflowing and water leaking under. They didnt even provide soap in the bathroom to wash your hands who knows how many diseases have been spread around there. The entry sliding door had a screw falling out every time we opened it. Just the worst place if you wanna relax, the price is too high for a barely livable accommodation.

Pros: Nice pool. Unlimited filtered water cooler in room. Hot water. Good water pressure. AC worked well. Beds comfortable. Office clerk spoke English. Choice of 6 free breakfasts at restaurant 1/2 block away. No bugs. Ok place for price. Cons: music playing across street until 12-1 AM every night. Some lime build up on faucets but this is a high humidity environment.
