"First time staying at a Holiday Inn but can thoroughly recommend this one in Portsmouth. Only staying overnight before getting the ferry but wished we could stay longer. Managed to do some shopping at Gun Wharf & enjoy the surrounding area. All within easy reach to hotel. "

"We had a very enjoyable stay at Strattons Hotel. The hotel was one of six I believe. We were just over the road from reception and where the restaurant is located. Very clean room which wasn’t as big as I was expecting but more than adequate for myself and my husband. I arranged for a bottle of Prosecco to be in the room for when we arrived, this was done along with a birthday card - lovely touch. Breakfast was brilliant. Quality meat we got to enjoy breakfast outside twice as the weather was beautiful! We shared a pizza one night along with some chips (we both agreed, that the chips were the nicest we’d ever tried)! Location wise, excellent! Short walk into town and about 1.5 miles from Gunwharf Quays, which was lovely to walk around. Staff were lovely, very welcoming, polite and very knowledgeable of the area! Just wish we could have stayed longer. "
