"I sincerely appreciated that there was free parking for guests. This was a big selling point for my husband and I. Most hotels charge $50+ per night for parking which is ridiculous when you’re already spending well over $1,000 for a long-term stay. We stayed 12 nights here and we loved the property. This property is secluded, but not completely isolated to where nothing is around it. Freeway entrances are right around the corner as well as gas stations. My husband and I also LOVED the free breakfast in the morning, super nice touch to this property! Staff were super friendly and were happy to get us anything extra that we needed such as toilet paper, blankets, towels, etc. The property was also very quiet, even with hosting weddings! They hosted several weddings while we were there and we couldn’t hear a thing. We definitely hope to be back! "

"New section of the hotel was great, only 3-4 weeks in use. It was very well appointed & much more upscale than a typical hotel. Large screen tv, significantly larger microwave, amazing tiled shower. All of the staff were outstanding! We had great conversations with several of them & it was a pleasure to get to know them. There was a game room above the registration office that was very well done. We will definitely stay there for any future visits to Salem "

"With any trip, location is very important, and staying at the Hawthorne Hotel was one of the best decisions we made in planning our trip! I would recommend staying at this hotel any day! It's clean, the rooms are nice, and with the most friendly staff! We had some time to wait before we went to Boston, and we wanted to stay in Salem to explore more.
