This beautiful studio is a ocean front Resort & Spa that has a pool, hot tub, lounge chairs, full gym, spa, and everything else you would expect at a luxury resort. We even have real Mayan Ruins across the street!

Our guest suite includes: Your own private balcony with table and four chairs on it - King Size Bed which can convert into twin beds - Convertible Sleep Sofa - Private Bath - Kitchenette - Large Refrigerator - Microwave - Toaster Oven - Coffee Maker - Two Burner Hot Plate - Silverware - Dishes - Satellite TV - Free Wifi - Hair Dryer - Iron and Washer and Dryer free of charge!

The floors are all marble, and it has a cathedral ceiling, air conditioning, a safe, linens, and towels for the bath, beach and pool.
Your balcony over looks the resorts pool area and the gorgeous ocean.. The views are amazing! At night you can see the lights from the island of Cozumel across the sea!

There are 2 restaurants in our place, both with full bars. One of the bars has a swim up counter in the pool. The lobby restaurant also serves a breakfast buffet in the mornings. Both restaurants serve food and beverages poolside and on the beach.

About our neighborhood:
We are in the middle of Playacar Fase 1, which is a very safe, gated, beach front neighborhood at the south end of Playa del Carmen. Playacar is divided into two phases. We live in Phase 1, which is very small and private in comparison to Phase 2. It is mostly single family houses except for one other condominium and one hotel, both of which are at the entrance to our neighborhood.

We are about a 10 minute walk along the beach to 5th Avenue, locally known as La Quinta. There you will find hundreds of restaurants. They serve everything from tacos or ceviche to French cuisine. The atmospheres range from sand-in-your-toes to high-end, fine dining, and you can spend as little or as much as you want. If you sit at one of the outdoor restaurants, you may be treated to live music by the strolling Mariachis.

Stunning Views

My second stay at this property. Resort is small and quiet and the views are stunning. Easy walk to 5th ave and all of its shopping a dining options. Food at the resort is also good if you just feel like staying in.

Great spot to unwind

Really loved the location. Residential area, but close enough to walk to where all the action is if that’s what you’re looking for. Ruins right across the street. Very comfortable room. Great view. Very pleasant staff at resort. Restaurant is decent. Great pool. Would love to stay there again!

Very nice to place.

We had a nice stay at the condo. It’s a good location and has a nice view. Nice to have the amenities of the small resort available as well. Not too bad of a walk into town and taxis are available if you’d rather not walk. No complaints at all about our stay,

Great Beach Stay

Perfect studio for two adults. We enjoyed ocean views from the balcony, walking into town for lunch and supplies (10-15 minutes), and overall safety and privacy of the location. We cooked dinner most nights at the condo and the hot plate, microwave and toaster oven were sufficient.

Feb stay at sunset fishermen’s.

Had a great time spending 5 nights at the condo. Everything was clean and had no issues. Enjoyed walking the beach and being walking distance from 5th ave and the surrounding area. Spent a few days enjoying the area and just hanging out at the beach. Was also good location to go on a few excursions on the other days. It was a perfect 1st trip to Mexico for us. Can’t wait to visit again.

Don't hesitate, it's amazing!

This place was so beautiful, especially for the price. It was clean and overlooked the beach which is steps away. The resort is the Sunset Fisherman. It's a small resort and very friendly and safe. The staff were so kind. They have a restaurant that serves a rotating menu which is delicious and affordable. The resort was very quiet and away from the hub-bub of Playa. The walk to Playa is an easy and safe 10-15 walk through a quiet neighborhood or a 15 minute walk up the beach. You won't find a place that is this affordable and right on the beach like this place!

Awesome view

Really enjoyed my stay at this spacious condo unit! It has an amazing view of the ocean, and the beach is a little more than a stone's throw away. The bed is comfy and the kitchen is great if you want to cook in. I really appreciated the purified water jug! The walk to 5th Avenue where all the shopping you could ever want as well as dining options are available if you want to change it up. The restaurant's on site are pretty good if you don't want to leave and just enjoy this great place. The infinity pool is great and again just a short walk to dip in the ocean. Would stay here again!

Feb 2024 - Sunset Fisherman Resort

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this resort / studio apt. The condo was clean and had everything we needed. The pool side bar / snack bar had good food and drinks. The restaurant that was onsite was good also. The people working here were all friendly and very helpful. Getting into town was easy, it was a short 15-minute walk. Getting a cab from the hotel was also very easy and reasonably priced. The only thing that needs some improvement is the resort need to get some more umbrellas for the beach.

I would have to say that the property represents as fairly average overall. It’s a studio unit with a king bed, sofa bed, kitchenette, bathroom. Small but adequate patio with view of ocean and table with four chairs on patio. Disappointed that bed had no proper pillows. Just four decorative pillows not appropriate for sleeping on. Resort in general is a tired property. Seaweed minimal on beach but smells quite bad. That is not a reflection on the resort but a problem plaguing much of the beachfront properties in the Caribbean. Unit was adequate and with a bit of attention would be much more desirable.

Anniversary celebration long weekend

The condo was perfect. Not too small and not too big. Great for my husband and I. There is a pull out sofa so you could absolutely take 2 children or in our case our 2 grandsons. Fishermans as always does not disappoint, the service is spectacular and the main restaurant is fabulous with quality of food choices and service. It was great having a washer/dryer available in the shared foyer area of 3 separate condos. The condo could benefit from more wash clothes/hand towels would be my only request:) Loved it, would book again! We stayed at Fishermans in June this year and the larger condo we booked was outdated and a bit run down. I appreciated the nice furniture of this condo, the outlets with multiple plug ins and all appliances in good condition.

Sunset Fisherman's

The property is nice. Our unit was 3 flights up so our legs got a workout. However, that meant we had a lovely view from the balcony. The room is large with a king size bed and sofa on the opposite wall. 2 TV's so you can watch from bed or sofa, not that there's much choice of programs in English. Adequate kitchen. 2 burner hotplate for cooking as well as MW and toaster oven. Big fridge. OK bathroom. Tons of closet and shelf space which is often unusual in these kind of rentals. Good AC and 2 ceiling fans. My one complaint is that the sliding door out to the balcony needs repair. You need muscle to open and close it. I would've reported it to the hosts, but I lost contact with them right after we checked in. I didn't have a phone number to call or text and the email quit working. The location is safe and quiet. Food and drinks are available on the property. Lots of walking to get to the part of town with the shops, bars, restaurants and the ferry pier. Taxis are readily available if you're willing to pay. Overall, if you're looking for a place on the beach that's quiet and family friendly, this would be a good choice.

Vacation Bliss

Doug & Krystal's corner condo was the perfect size & location. Breathtaking view of the ocean. 250 steps to the ocean shore (I counted). The unit was spacious and small kitchen area sufficient. Perfect size refrigerator & very nice to have a little coffee to start off. Always had access to a water jug refill upon request! A pleasure to not have to go out and purchase wine glasses as per the norm with many rentals. In our mid sixties & having visited many hotels and resorts, we were flat out thrilled with the comfort of the bed. Just WOW! By far the most comfortable bed that we have ever experienced-a foam topper and at a height where you didn't have to climb up into the bed. We did mention to the managers, in a respectful manner that the AC needs some attention as does the sliding glass door to the balcony, and the entry door side panel really needs to be more secure. We couldn't be more pleased with the resort as well-large enough to be re-pleat with many amenities that you would see in an expansive resort, small enough for staff and management to pay attention to details. All of the staff were wonderful and we met so many fantastic guests and owners. A mini-lending library. Pure joy to have had the opportunity to experience Sunset Fishermen's Resort! Many pools, outdoor showers, the loungers were VERY comfortable & shade umbrellas. Soft ocean floor. Sargasso not too bad. Would have like to see more beach clean up though. Loved it here! Thank You!!

Best beachfront in Riviera Maya

My family has stayed here before and love it enough to keep coming back. The beach front locations, amenities, and ability to Rappi in food without ever having to leave make it our favorite spot in the Riviera.

Nice condo in Playacar close to everything

We were very confortable at the condo, the hotel is nice there's amenities like gym, spa, pool and restaurants. It's located in Playacar, it's very nice neighborhood and it's close to all in playa.
