Peaceful coastal property with large garden. Unbeatable views of sea and moors.

The Mowhay at Trevowhan lies on the unspoiled north coast of the Land's End Peninsula, midway between St Ives and Land's End. Trevowhan is a peaceful hamlet of granite cottages and the Mowhay, with its unbeatable sea views, stands in spacious surroundings within the owners' property. It is a few hundred metres from the Cornwall Coastal Footpath and has National Trust fields and moorland hills behind.
The Mowhay is on the upper floor of a traditional granite barn and has its own large private garden and parking area. The property has a spacious lounge with sweeping views from all windows, There is a newly modernised kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom with shower. Access is by a stepped ramp with guard rail.
Trevowhan is only a few miles from Penzance, St Michael's Mount, Sennen and St Ives and is an ideal base for exploring the area. The beautiful Portheras Beach is just over a mile away while some of the finest walking country in Cornwall is within a few minutes of The Mowhay. There is a good selection of eating places and pubs within two miles in either direction. The nearest shop is two miles to the west in the village of Pendeen and Penzance is a fifteen minute drive away. There is a regular bus service running between Land's End and St Ives that stops 100m from the property.

Beautiful Cottage at an Amazing Location!
Everything about this cottage was good. Comfortable bed, bright living room with sea views, well fitted-out kitchen with washing machine - and all detached with garden, parking & good communication. The Sat-Nav took us right there, but had to park and locate on foot as the property is tucked away up a drive way - no big deal though! Beautiful coastal walks nearby.

It's a clean and nice house but difficult to drive on very narrow roads and was blocked for the road works.

Quiet setting
The accommodation was quaint and quiet. We were a little further out than we expected but after a day's walking and exploring it was the perfect place to relax for the evening. Loved the setting. Des was very helpful and kind, we wished we had more time to do all the things that were in the welcome booklet.

Great experience at the Cornish coasts!
The house has everything you need to relax in-between trips including the assistance and help of the wonderful owners who life near the house, always ready to help if needed. The surroundings are beautiful, the coastlines are overwhelming beautiful, the house isn't in a touristic place but in full countryside so peaceful and quiet is hard to imagine unless you've been there.

Peaceful Coastal Holiday
The Mowhay was a beautiful, peaceful place to base our mini break. Gorgeous views out to sea and onto the moorland above. The flat is spacious, spotlessly clean and with very good facilities. Pauline and Des gave us a warm and friendly welcome and we look forward to seeing them again when we no doubt rebook this great find.

Quiet and Relaxing
Had very good communication with Des and Pauline prior to my arrival at the property. I was welcomed with tea bags, milk and biscuits waiting for me in the kitchen. Des and Pauline are extremely friendly and helpful and live in the adjacent building if needed. The property has views on three sides and was very clean and bright throughout. There is a large well-equipped kitchen and large lounge with a dining table and two sofas. The hamlet is quite remote, so I would say a car is essential. However, it is the perfect location to explore the North and South on the Cornish West coast. I am happy to recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing break in the Cornish countryside and look forward to booking it again.

Loved It
We needed a place to get away, and this was it. Though our stay was during a school break, we'd have never known it until we drove into Saint Ives. The cottage was as described and was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The views were so mesmerizing it was difficult to leave for our daily explorations. Pauline was helpful yet unobtrusive. The folder with recommendations, information, and a map was useful and thoughtful. We loved this place.

Not quite as expected .........
The property was clean and well presented on initial viewing but it was tired and needed refreshing. In places there were grubby marks on the walls. There was a hairdryer but no plug point near a mirror so in order to use the hairdryer the mirror had to be moved into the living room to the dining table for use. The basics were provided but no enhancements such as shower gel or cosmetic tissues. The water pressure was very poor - part of life in the country - but it meant the shower was either boiling hot or cold - it took a lot of adjustment to get an acceptable temperature and then it was only just above a dribble.
