The Royal Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"It was a quick stop over trip as we were picking up things nearby so we booked late at night, arrived just before check in ended and had a large trailer with us. Staff were extremely helpful, helping us to park up safely, ensuring we had everything we needed etc. It was a comfy room, a lovely breakfast and a beautiful location. It was just a pity we had to be away early and couldn't stay and enjoy the location."

"This is the third time we have stayed here on our way to visit family in Scotland. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. The room is spotless and the beds very comfortable. The food and service in the hotel is excellent. We would highly recommend staying at the Westmoreland."

"We stayed over a weekend with a group of friends. The hotel was efficient and staff very friendly. We had an excellent large room, lots of space for our kit. The breakfast, whilst being a buffet style, offered many fresh options and was very tasty. We had an evening meal, again this was excellent too. Well done."

"Hotel staff are amazing never anything too much and always friendly and cheery even if somethings gone slightly upside down (internet fail on our second to last night out of their control), freshly cooked food was always amazing, some rooms are in the process of being updated but our bedroom was loveky but bathroom needed a bit of tlc for the bath. Defi ately will be returning next year to see them :)"

"I had a lovely stay at the Troutbeck Inn. The location is great, making it an ideal base for exploring the Lake District, with beautiful scenery and plenty of walking routes nearby. Blencathra and Helvellyn within 15 min drives. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive which made the experience feel warm and personal. The Inn and rooms were also very clean and well maintained. Room amenities were nice, and the pub food was great. Highly recommend the homemade pie. Overall a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and I would love to return when visiting the area again."
