"This rental was exactly what we were looking for! The house is in the town of Vega Baja, which is 30 min from SJ with no traffic. It’s not located in a touristy part of the island which is what we wanted. The owner Heriberto was communicative before we arrived ( I had water concerns which did not affect our stay at all), met us upon arrival and when we left he wished us back! You will hear roasters in the morning, the coquis at night and dogs barking which again we expected and was by no means disruptive. The house had plenty of fresh linens and towels, beach chairs and beach towels we appreciated and used during our stay. My kiddos also very much enjoyed the pool a few times which was maintained and has some nice overhead shade, pool noodles and chairs around the pool area. You may see a critter or 2 in the house , we even got a little lizard we chased out the front door, but these things are expected so we were not bothered whatsoever. Amenities were all available as pictured, cool pool table my kids enjoyed a few times. The grill could be better. I believe it’s not the one pictured and had build up on it which we probably could have cleaned but we were on vacation so we didn’t end up grilling which was fine but worth mentioning. Plenty of space in all the bedrooms with air conditioning in all rooms, we were very happy with our stay! Thank you Heriberto for the stay and your home! We will contact you for future visits to your beautiful island."

"Extremely clean! We stayed one night while making our way to the west side of the island. There’s a great bakery within walking distance for breakfast. It’s only 5 minutes from Ojo de Agua and 10 minutes from Puerto Nuevo Beach, so we were able to fit a lot into our stay."

"Hotel Melao is like a hidden gem. Communication was very good from the start, thank you Heriberto for all your help. Hallways and common areas were very pleasant and organized. My room was just what I needed and it was very clean. Secured parking area was great and gave me peace of mind. I will definitely book again especially since it's close to everything. Thank you."

"It was clean. We never lack electricity or water. And does who know PR main problems, they know that's important. Kitchen perfect for small meals. Rooms say for 6 people. Evryone friendly even the neighbors. Communication with owner was good. And the best is 2 mint for the ojo de agua, and 5 mint for the beach. Delicious food around."
