A nice older hotel that’s been maintained, but isn’t fancy. The room was a bit cramped - the king size bed was essentially against the wall making it difficult to get out and didn’t have enough space for a bedside table. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a good, economical spot in downtown Berkeley.

My daughter is a freshman at Cal. I have stayed at Shattuck Place multiple times and every visit has been great. This time we stayed in a corner suite (538). Such a great upgrade, super comfortable rooms, view of the campanile, well worth the extra expense. This was move in week at UCB, the hotel had the cutest sitting area in the lobby for families to take pictures with perfect themed "my first day of college" decorations, so thoughtful. Also, shout out to Alex in the Zino restaurant!

Hotel Shattuck is perfectly located near UC Berkeley and the BART station. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. My daughter and I stayed for three days and were very surprised that our room was cleaned daily. The restaurant offered different meal options and it had an awesome ambiance. We really enjoyed our stay.
