Just finished a 3 night stay with a newborn and Beacon Grand represents great value in an unbeatable location in San Fran. However, it was the level of service that was amazing, Walli the manager, made the experience for us, he did his best to accommodate us on our first trip with our newborn and he made it amazing. Thank you again, we will be back.

This property indicates that it has been “renovated”, but it just still needs work. Honestly, the walls were paper thin, the guest rooms look like they need a good scrubbing and the hallways just feel dark and dingy. I don’t normally take time to write reviews, but if you are looking for a quiet, clean space to stay in San Francisco this is just not it!

Staff nice until we were yelled at by vallet because of filming some tv show. We were rushed and we had two infants to unload while traffic proceeded as vallet and manager yelled at us to hurry. We will most likely not recommend.

I have stayed here twice and definitely will do so again. The location could not be better. Superb restaurants within walking distance, proximity to Chinatown, cable car stop right in front and comfortable, clean rooms. The best staff I've ever encountered. A classy and elegant hotel with a long history.

Overall, our stay at the Beacon Grand would be a 2.5 star in my opinion. We stayed five nights here so we feel like we really got a sense of the hotel. Immediately as you walk into the lobby after a long travel day you’re assaulted with the smell of cigarettes and pot from off the street that permeates into the hotel from the automatic sliding doors (not totally the hotels fault). Then as you get further into the lobby it smells musty/old. The ceiling was leaking and they had placed towels and buckets on the floor to catch dripping water - this took several days to fix. The rooms were renovated poorly - shotty work with bad dry walls, old pipes in the shower, stains pretty much everywhere. The dust was so bad our allergies started acting up. The 2.5 stars comes from friendly staff interactions and decent location to major tourist attractions. Wouldn’t recommend, especially for the price and how it is marketed as being much nicer than it is. I would have rather spent more and been happier elsewhere.
