The best time to go to Nussdorf is during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the vineyards are at their most picturesque.During late spring, the vineyards are lush and green, and the temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 22°C. This period is ideal for enjoying outdoor activities like hiking or cycling through the scenic Kahlenberg and Leopoldsberg hills, which offer fantastic views over Vienna. The Heuriger (wine taverns) are usually in full swing, providing a relaxed setting to sample local wines and traditional Austrian dishes.Early autumn also offers beautiful weather, with temperatures between 12°C and 18°C, and the added bonus of the grape harvest season. The foliage in the vineyards begins to change colour, creating a stunning backdrop for walks and wine tastings. This is a particularly good time for those interested in the winemaking process, as many Heuriger offer special events celebrating the new wine.
