Beautiful little village with great restaurants, cafes & shops, would recommend any of the other hotels or guesthouses. The hotel itself is under funded, run down, poorly maintained and dirty. Some new staff we encountered were trying to help but did not receive support from existing and very rude / arrogant staff, especially on reception at check in. Little to no interaction from management who just hung around watching the new staff flounder, offering no support or advice. The rooms are out dated, the beds are small and uncomfortable, the only upside was a socket with USB charging ports. We were on the ground floor with a view of what could have been a nice patio area for the rooms however the door had been sealed off and the area left to become overgrown. There is insufficient car parking especially if there is a wedding on. There are also no EV facilities which I find astounding in the current climate. Walking through the grounds of the hotel to the spa looked ok but again lacked general upkeep, this could be a really nice experience given some investment. We didn’t try the spa as from the outside of the sea world observation window it looked to be the same condition as the rest of the hotel, and quite frankly I didn’t want to part with £8 for the experience. I’ve never visited a spa hotel where it’s not included in the booking fee. All in all a very disappointing experience for us, it would take some serious renovation and training for us to return.

We've been long term visitors to Bosworth hall and love its convenience to local historical and beauty spots. It is set in lovely grounds and the staff are always friendly. In the evening the hotel is a bustle of activity and has a good vibe. However, charging paying hotel guests more to use the pool will impact on our decision making in the future. The pool used to be free to all hotel guests, charging extra is rather miserly in our opinion. Guests should bear in mind the stealth charges like the pool and paying for extra pool towels when working out whether the hotel offers value for money. The extra charges were not made clear at the time of our booking.

The hotel marketing photo is misleading. the actual rooms are in a modern block and very ordinary. Badly insulated - could hear people talking, walking around etc which resulted in two very bad nights sleep. The hotel reception is not obvious! Spent ten minutes walking around the hotel and had to ask other guests where the reception desk was. Why have the main front door open, with Welcome written on the ground, if you dont want people to enter that way? Directions to my room were minimal. Spent another 10 minutes walking around trying to find it! Staff werent busy - why show guests where to go? It would also be helpful if the room number was on the key card. I arrived at 8pm and by the time I got into my room and came downstairs at about 8.35 to get something to eat I discovered that the restaurant and bar food were no longer available. Crisps for supper! From a hotel marketing point of view it would be good to have a welcome email before arrival stating where the reception desk is, when food is available and to be welcoming!

It is a beautiful building and grounds, but much of the decor was below par. We had a superior room but it was badly painted & decorated with no pictures on the walls. Lighting was very dim, and chairs were uncomfortable and scruffy.

Magnificent looking hotel, set in picturesque grounds. My only complaint was there were no sockets to where the kettle and coffee machine had been set up. This meant moving them across the room to stand on top of the mini fridge where a multipoint socket extension had been set up. This is fairly dangerous as the socket and the appliances are all on top of the mini fridge.

A shambles from start to finish. Check in was awful. I had two people walk into my room due to them being given the same room key. Car park was half closed. Bed really uncomfortable and old. The only hotel I know that you have to pay for WiFi.

Better alternatives
It was a tired hotel and I had a few problems with rooms. They weren't overly warm and I there was no hot water in one. The TV didn't work properly in another and the rooms need a serious update. On top of that in this day and age trying to charge for wifi seems archaic baring in mind signal was impossible to find in the hotel.

Firstly, it was cheap so you shouldn't expect the Ritz and it looks nice from the outside. Inside it's all a bit Fawlty Towers. Big queue at check in but they made us wait 90 seconds as it wasnt quite 4pm!. 3 people behind check-in but as the clock ticked over to 4, 2 of them disappeared to the back office meaning a 20 minute wait to get my key card. The room was fine but no wifi unless you pay and no phone reception in my room. The only plugpoint was miles from the desk, so to do any work, I had to sit on the floor so the laptop could be plugged in. I was told despite it saying it had a pool, I had to pay extra to use it. Finally, I checked the bed (I work in the pest industry and so always check for things that shouldnt be there!). It was pest free, but the mattress was date stamped as being installed in 2010....maybe time to retire this workhorse! Really noisy (which I dont blame the hotel for as its an old building) but if you want a quiet night, you will hear every creak of floorboard from rooms above and next door. On checkout, a final grunt from the receptionist as I said goodbye to hand my key in, but she didnt take her eyes off the computer screen.

Very impressive
two night stay on a business trip so looked for a good value hotel and got a very good deal for 2 nights in a very impressive building. Bosworth Hall was pretty amazing - huge 18 Century country house with some beautiful public rooms and lots of historic features. It was a pity it was dark when i got there as i would have liked to have a look round in daylight and the grounds looked interesting and the building is very impressive. Lots of parking outside and in a very handy location for Leicester, Hinckley, etc. My room was fairly basic with a comfortable bed, ensuite bathroom, a couple of chairs, desk, kettle, TV etc - all the basics you expect. My room was downstairs and a little chilly but the upper rooms and corridors seemed to be a lot warmer, that said, I was perfectly comfortable. Early start so did not bother with breakfast but it looked ok. Ate in the bar in the evening and was very happy with my meal - well cooked and tasty. Overall a very impressive hotel - would like to have a short break there with my wife.

Dated and tired looking hotel
Make sure you get the type of room that you have reserved. We booked and paid for a superior double room, was given a standard double but still charged for the superior. The room was so small that one person would need to be sat on the bed in order for the other person that get past. It says it offer free wifi but not in your room, that has to be paid for, as well as paying to park overnight. Tha bathroom was dirty, screws exposed on the bath panel. Extremely noisy floorboards in the room above. We were kept awake and then woken in the morning by the resident in room above. Receptionist not very helpful. Overall the property is dated and very tired, in need of modernisation. Won't be visiting again which is a shame as from the outside, the building seems to offer more than it is capable of

hotel wasnt fine and i wouldn't go back. They put us right next to a generator that went off every 20 minutes so didn't get much sleep, then went to spa in morning and they advised us the pipes had broke so the water was freezing and the jacuzzi had been switched off. Only positive was it was a nice location to walk round

The hotel desperately in need of the renovation and updating of the rooms. Moved rooms 3 times within days, faulty radiators, poor water pressure, cracks and dents on the side of the bath, faulty sliding wardrobe door, stains on the bathroom floor! The list goes on!

The breakfast and other kitchen food was fantastic. The main building is run down and in need of some desperate TLC and maintenance and the hotel rooms also, moved a few times in a few days cause of various faults. Even then was finding problems. Checked out a day earlier , even though I had paid for the night, loosing that payment. Was not asked why or asked how my stay was. Would not stay again.

Nice staying somewhere a bit "plusher" than usual (we tend to find a room based on price!). Car park/finding Reception was a bit chaotic, but a lovely welcome from the staff at Reception when we arrived. Slightly puzzled that reception couldn't comment on what arrangements for food there might be at the bar (they could only tell me they'd sold out of restaurant tickets!). Swimming pool was great, but charged as an extra. Overall really pleased, and would certainly visit again.

When I phoned the hotel to book I was quoted £300 so I was delighted when I found it on Expedia for £109 and thought we had a bargain. Was expecting a high end hotel but it certainly wasn't that. Customer service definitely lacking; room keys were given without any hints as to where we might find the room in the labyrinthine hotel, and when we asked about breakfast times and spa we were simply told to read the information sheet so after checking in we had to spend a while readinga couple of sheets to find things out. We had to change rooms twice due to faulty heater, lugging our own cases around the long corridors and back to reception, we ended up in twin beds on my birthday! Rooms v bland, bathrooms shabby and old-fashioned. Couldn't see any reason for the higher price or the 'superior/executive' room we'd paid more for. Meals were buffet and evening food a bizarre unlabelled mish-mash. The hotel was absolutely beautiful building with stunning scenery and lovely seating areas outside and indoors, but everywhere was quite chilly and between that and the uncomfortable bed I slept badly. However, I enjoyed a swim in the good-sized pool and had a lovely massage - spa staff seemed more knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel was packed with older people and we discovered rooms were going for around £50, no idea where the original price of £300 was plucked from but we'd have been gutted had we spent that much. Would visit again for the lower price as forewarned is forearmed.

We went for a relaxing break with a rare evening away from our children. The room was pleasant with a nice view of the lawn. The bed was very comfortable. The room came with a brand new coffee machine. On arrival we noticed a lot of dogs at the hotel, which whilst a little unusual, wasn’t of concern. At midnight a dog started barking and this carried on throughout the night until 4.30 am, the barking then continued from 7.30. Neither of us managed more than two hours sleep. I’m not sure if the purpose of a hotel if it’s impossible to sleep there. The next morning we took ourselves to the spa. The Jacuzzi and the steam room were out of action. No one mentioned this at the spa reception. It left just a pool and a small sauna. It’s a real shame. This hotel holds special memories for us as a couple and it’s in a lovely area, with good restaurants and pleasant walks. It completely ruined our plans and evening of relaxation.
