The COVID-19 outbreak may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't stifled our desire to explore. Here are some tips on how to handle the new challenges of travelling:

• Know the restrictions and rules in both your destination and origin. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so make sure you check before you lock in your flight.
• Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to lower your mask temporarily for ID purposes.
• Do not hand your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA employee. Instead, you should position the pass on the scanner and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• You are now allowed to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your hand luggage. You'll need to remove it for screening.
• Place any personal items (phone, keys and wallet) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA agent will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
