Lovely Family Home in Quiet Country Feel Subdivision with Cat & Fish
This lovely 5 year old home is a draftsman's family home and has been designed to maximize sun to all living areas/bedrooms without overheating. There are three bedrooms available, one bathroom, separate toilet and en-suite off the master bedroom. There is a good sized well equipped kitchen with butler pantry. Here you can find various appliances to make your stay easier including a toasted sandwich maker, slow cooker and a coffee machine. While enjoying your meal you can enjoy lovely views down the valley from the dining room table, you might even receive a visit from one of the local weka population. The soft couch in the family room is a perfect place to read a book and soak up the suns rays and the cozy stylish lounge is complete with massage chair and surround sound speakers.
A large deck and BBQ is perfect for those warm sunny afternoons and the large outdoor table is shaded by a cantilevered umbrella.
The kids will be happy to find play equipment in the backyard including a trampoline, sand pit and swing set.
The place is fully fenced and safe for children.
All this in a quiet, new subdivision in the Stoke foothills with ample bush walks and mountain biking only a mere 15 minutes walk away. Not only is it only a five minute drive to the Stoke shops which is serviced by two supermarkets, NZ Post shop, pharmacy, library, a petrol station, liquor store and various eateries, you're also only 5 minutes from Nelson's beautiful Isel Park home of the late Thomas Marsden. Thomas lived in the historic Isel House in 1848 (open to the public) and his gardens of mature trees are a wonder to explore.
We do ask in return that our fish are fed a spoonful of food once a day. Also that our friendly cat Loki is fed meat in the evening and his automatic biscuit dispenser be topped up if necessary.

Lovely home including friendly cat and fish for the kids to look at / feed! Perfect idyllic location and minutes from everywhere. Would 100% stay here again!
We came to the Nelson area this time primarily for a medical appointment. We spent a lot of time in the property because we were coincidentally organising a family event (not held here!) so we sadly didn't get to take advantage of the walks and other activities in the area. There was plenty of room for us all to "do our own thing". I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Nelson.
PS We all loved the cat and wished we could take him home!
The house is a family home being let while owners are away. The house is in a quiet, newish subdivision in the Marsden Valley, with good walking possibilities around. The house is very well equipped and comfortable for five of us - three adults and two children. It has good indoor-outdoor flow, including a barbecue and a large outdoor table, both of which we used. The owner left odds and ends of food staples for us to use, which is always welcome, and the kitchen was well equipped. We hosted Christmas meals for 11 at the house and it worked really well - there are two living areas as well as the outside areas.
The owner asked us to feed the tropical fish and her cat, and this was no trouble as everything was there with clear instructions. The cat was lovely, and we also enjoyed regular visits to the garden from a weka. The owner even organised for us to receive a box of chocolates as thank you for doing this.
The owner had ensured we had very clear information about everything we needed, including the lockbox code, Wifi, etc.
All in all, a great find for a family break in Nelson.
Lovely family home. Great location with walks nearby. Loki the cat is so friendly and welcoming to visitors to his home. Can recommend these hosts to others. Thanking you for sharing your home with us at Christmas.
Thanks so much for having us. The house was great and very well appointed. Perfect house for our family and the massage chair was amazing! Our hosts were great with communication and we would definitely recommend this house to anyone.
This was great accommodation - location was quiet and peaceful while still very close to town. A real home away from home and we loved being able to look after the cat in the owners absence .
Owner was beyond amazing with correspondence and made every effort to make our stay the pleasure it was .
Thanks Angela
