Rockaway Retreat: Dog-Friendly, Game Room, BBQ

"The house was spacious, well set up, and comfortable. Downstairs had a video game room and cute kid’s bedroom. Decor was a little dated and a few items could use refreshing. There was a problem with downstairs toilet which we noted immediately upon arrival and reported the next morning. Maintenance arrived at 4:30 pm. Maintenance person said they had told the owner about the toilet before - actually that both downstairs and upstairs toilets handles hardware had been installed incorrectly. It was noticeable. I felt that we had to be gentle with them in case they broke. Bathrooms could have benefited from non-skid floor rugs and a non-slip mat in the tub. Senior guests needs should be looked out for. Proximity to the beach was great, just a short walk. Overall rating 4 star."

"There were a few issues at check in but the communication was very fast. There was someone there by morning to address the issues. The hot tub needed cleaned out. The cover is broken and getting insulation in the hot tub which could damage it. The kitchen was well stocked but there were no dish cloths just a sponge which I don’t find very sanitary. The layout was great for our needs. The sheets were clean and the bed slept decent. Overall, the house could use some freshening up. The carpet leading upstairs & the upstairs didn’t looked swept. The towels looked stained and dirty. We washed the wash cloths a few times and they looked better. This home could be spruced up a bit to make it even better. It did meet our needs for this stay and we would rent again."

"We’re not ones to normally complain, but there were a few things that affected our review. The cleaners were not done at check in at 4. We arrived to trash bags and the floors dirty and no one at the location. The cleaner showed back up at 4:02 and said all she needed to do was vacuum unless “we were ok with how it was”. Obviously we were not. We waited outside until 4:20 when she came out and said she was done. Upon going back inside it was clear the floors were still dirty. Upstairs not vacuumed. Full dishwasher. The beds were made but the sheets didn’t seem clean and like there was sand in them. Toilets were dirty. Make sure you bring toiletries because there was not shampoo etc as advertised. The trash can outside was packed full and emitting a strong fish odor by the hot tub. We made the best of it and cleaned up what we could. Other than the space not being quite ready, it was quite comfortable for our stay. Great for the beach, and coming back for a fire after a day in tillamook."

"We give this property 5 stars overall. If I may offer a bit of constructive feedback though? We rented this property originally in May, due to illness had to postpone and the host was incredibly quick to respond and solution oriented. 5 stars! This property location and views are amazing. We close it for working business retreat due to 3 bedrooms and 3 baths- open kitchen and living room. All that 5 stars. Area for improvement, the car charger is in the garage and garage door is broken so it’s unusable. Broken fireplace which was in instructions but so nice to have on chilly beach nights. The door lock situation was really broken. I’d advise a lock smith or keys with code options, which was offered eventually but would have been nicer to just get in the house at the appropriate check in time. Pillows in all the beds very old and hard; a quick trip to Costco could really upgrade the sleeping experience along with newer linens. Thicker fuller bath towels would have made the complete two day experience more enjoyable & comfortable. I still give this property 5 stars because the views from the crows nest is just stunning for sunsets!"

"Our stay at Home Away at Rockaway was fun and memorable! The house was perfect for our needs. It’s a cute and cozy beach house with an old, yet modern feel to it. It was tidy and comfortably set up. It is not a new house by any means and shows some ware and tare as a result. If you’re not someone who cares about cosmetic appearances however it would be the perfect vacation destination. We would definitely stay again!"

"This house was a perfect fit for our family. The 4 grandchildren loved the bunks with their own light and curtains. My husband is in a wheelchair and he was very comfortable. That says alot! All the bikes, games (outdoor and in), and the the firepit was a plus. What a hit the shower was. The beach was an easy walk and the grandkids loved climbing on all the driftwood. We definitely enjoyed our stay!"

"We love Nedonna Beach and this was a perfect spot for our family of 3 -- perfect sized house, perfect location, kitchen had what we needed, and it was so nice to have on site laundry! Jordan was exceptionally helpful and responsive -- 10/10 would stay in this property or any of their other properties in the future!"
