"Lovely house with bedrooms downstairs and a lovely open plan kitchen, dining and seating area upstairs. There is a second bathroom with shower on the top floor with main bathroom on ground floor. The kitchen is well equipped including dish washing items. We loved the location as easy access to Penrith, Keswick and Ulswater with lots of lovely walks. Whilst the property is on a working farm it’s very quiet. There are farm

"A lovely short break, perfect for walking as straight out the backdoor and also for exploring Keswick and Ullswater. The Mill Inn is extremely welcoming and the pies are delicious. Met several people who have been returning for years. Our 3

"We loved our visit to Herdwick House. The massive field at the front of the property was ideal for our kids to chuck a ball and run around. Kept the adults busy too. Everyone was exhausted every night and slept well. Kids loved the bunk room. Plenty of space. Thank you"

"Cottage had all we needed and more - cosy and comfortable. Views from the windows were all you could hope for. Welcome was extraordinary - homemade jam and scones and fresh flowers from the garden in a vase. Alpacas and chickens provided endless entertainment."

"This place was a dream. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is right across the street from Dove Cottage and a short walk into Grasmere to see Wordsworth's grave. There is also a convenient bus stop right across the street if you are traveling without a car. The location is stunning; even a view of the car park provided beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The hiking path around Grasmere Lake was one of the most beautiful trails I've ever hiked. We stopped in Keswick and Windermere as well, and highly preferred the quiet location in Grasmere. The hotel provides excellent food, so you don't have to leave, although there is a great cafe and pub a short walk away. The property was clean, the bed was comfortable, the location was quiet, and the breakfast room was gorgeous! Not a bad view in any room in the place. Absolutely loved this place and plan on returning. Thanks for the remarkable stay!"
