I had a great stay at Samesun Hotel during my visit to Montreal. The location was convenient, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience, and I would happily stay here again.

The staff was helpful and the dorms were spacious. It was easy to get settled in and to figure out how things work for both check-in and check-out. Common areas were well-kept and active, and amenities were plentiful, and they even host a happy hour in the evenings. My two complaints: the lower-level dorm I was placed in seemed weirdly warm and humid (??) compared to the rest of the building--possibly because it was next to the laundry room. The shower also could have used a cleaning.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The air conditioning in the main area worked great but was a bit stuffy in the room. The shower seemed like it could use a cleaning. No elevator. Breakfast was simple but nice, toast, eggos, cereals, apples and oranges. Bar has a happy hour from 6-9. The kitchen has all the supplies and basic ingredients. Great location, neighborhood felt safe to walk around alone at night as a female solo traveller. Good place if you're on a budget :) There are no locks offered by the hostel so bring your own if you plan to use the lockers (which are a bit small)

Rooms were spotless, staff is always courteous and you get a youthful vibe on scene that's pleasant and vibrant. I'm 53 and wouldn't go anywhere else to stay in Montreal. It's like your own apartment surrounded by fun if you want, privacy and quiet when you don't at the right price.
