"Such a great stay at the hideaway. The accommodation and views were stunning.
Had such a warm welcome from the hosts and the breakfast and attention to detail just made it that bit more special. Highly recommend and we can’t wait to come back and stay again "

"Spa facilities are very small but the treatments are excellent.
Food is abysmal, disappointing and overpriced. Bar is limited with few non alcoholic options and appalling non alcoholic cocktails.
All the staff are friendly and helpful but have their work cut out for them in a tired hotel past its best. There are signs of half-completed basic renovations and worn, tired carpets.
Lovely gardens. "

"The staff were very accommodating and hospitable.
We were late arriving, rang to let them know an ETA (9.30pm) and enquired if they were still serving food, they informed us that they had stopped serving food around 8 pm, but that they would cook for us on arrival, which was ideal (particularly for a family of 4, all hungry and tired)!
The food and beer were good. Couldn't fault it.
The pub and accommodation are very characterful. Parts of the building are over 500 years old. It may not be for everyone, but for our one-night stay, it was ideal.
The room was quite cold (this was late December, after all), but the heaters in the room(s) soon warmed us up.
We all enjoyed a hearty cooked breakfast in the morning, with good tea and coffee. Again, the staff were very attentive and gave us lots of options.
The only negative was a broken blind in the bathroom, which was situated next to the car park...it didn't feel fully private! All in all, a pleasant experience and stay."
"The room was very nicely presented, light and very cosy and warm. The staff were very helpful, kathy helped us out lots and assisted us with whatever we needed.
Access to the pool and various spa activities was a good addition as well.
Lovely place and well recommeded, will deffinetely stay again. "
"We stayed in the Annexe for just one night on our way north and it was the perfect rest stop. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our brief stay - including milk in the fridge for morning teas. I would definitely recommend if you're visiting the area. 8 minute drive from Bruton. "
"The George is a lovely, old-fashioned kind of hotel in a small village. Check in was a little confused as we missed the sign that said reception but once we found it, it was easy.
The room was spacious with a king sized bed, kettle, desk and chair. I was extremely impressed with the breakfast. Tea, coffee, juice, cereal and toast then a cooked choice from the menu. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
A lovely stay and we would definitely return."
"We enjoyed our 2 nights stay here. We were attending the New Wine festival at Shepton Mallet so needed somewhere to sleep! We didn't use many of the facilities as we literally got up & left for the day but there were plenty of facilities available! We slept like babies in the comfy bed!
Lesley was a very helpful hostess & communicated often. She's even posting me back an item of clothing we left behind! The accommodation was comfortable, there was parking available too! We would highly recommend staying here❤️"
"A lovely and very well cared for and maintained property. Comfortable, well equipped and well located, and excellent communication from the owners. A note, more and more Vrbo properties are through middle men agents, so Vrbo didn't add any value, just cost."
