"Great location in a wonderful historic villageHouse was very comfortable, welcoming, spacious and well appointed. What they call the kids bedroom works perfectly for an adult. The host kindly lent us board games and decorated for Christmas The only minor ‘negative’ thing was that the kitchen could do with a deep clean. I had to wash any utensils or pans before use, but overal the house was clean, so this was minor for me."

"The staff were very accommodating and hospitable. We were late arriving, rang to let them know an ETA (9.30pm) and enquired if they were still serving food, they informed us that they had stopped serving food around 8 pm, but that they would cook for us on arrival, which was ideal (particularly for a family of 4, all hungry and tired)! The food and beer were good. Couldn't fault it. The pub and accommodation are very characterful. Parts of the building are over 500 years old. It may not be for everyone, but for our one-night stay, it was ideal. The room was quite cold (this was late December, after all), but the heaters in the room(s) soon warmed us up. We all enjoyed a hearty cooked breakfast in the morning, with good tea and coffee. Again, the staff were very attentive and gave us lots of options. The only negative was a broken blind in the bathroom, which was situated next to the car park...it didn't feel fully private! All in all, a pleasant experience and stay."

"The lady who checked me in was excellent, very courteous and helpful. Amenities were very good, and room was clean. Bed was comfortable, my pillow was too soft, but that is a personal observation and choice. Overall an excellent choice!!"

"This was a lovely little house with everything you need for a cosy stay. The whole space is well maintained, the stove is great and the bed has soft clean sheets. The area was fantastic great for all the local sights Glastonbury, Wells and Cheddar. It was so quiet we slept so well. "

"The property was very clean and matched the photos advertising the house. The space in the kitchen/dining/games' area was perfect for our gathering of nine friends, and the views from the patio across the Somerset countryside were beautiful - including spectacular sunsets.However, the house was inadequately resourced for nine people, let alone the twelve it accommodates. There was only one large cooking pot, no serving dishes or jugs. Chopping boards were tiny, knives were blunt and the cooker vent was blocked. Sharing two bathrooms between nine people was difficult to co-ordinate. It is certainly not sufficient for twelve people. We felt that the toilet next to the kitchen could easily be converted to contain a shower to ease the problem. There were no mattress protectors on beds, which we felt was unhygienic. There was only one key for the property, although there were several doors accessing all parts of the garden. Due to the sprawling layout of the property, we felt this could be a fire risk.We have contacted the property owners, who said if we had got in touch, they would have rectified the problems, but as we were only staying two nights over a weekend, I doubt that they would have been able to sort everything out in time for us to be able to make full use of any enhancements. I only hope that they have taken onboard our lengthy suggestions for improvements, so by the time future guests arrive, they may enjoy a hassle-free stay."
