"Very clean, modern & friendly. Excellent shower, comfy bed. Lovely breakfast, decent bar food. A bit off the beaten track, but still only a short drive to Durham & other attractions. Can’t fault it."

"Great hotel. Swimming facilities lovely. Grounds immaculate and even a wee play park for kids. Only thing that spoilt things slightly was the service in the Antler bar. Not enough staff on so service was slow. We ordered food just after 5pm and had to go and check where it was at 6.10pm. They said there was a problem with the printer and they had lost our order. Not ideal with a starving 3 year old but they did their best to rectify it, complimentary drinks and rushed the order through once brought to their attention. Staff polite and friendly, just not enough of them and the ones that were working were slow. Overall a great stay, would definitely return. "

"A lovely hotel in the most perfect of areas for exploring everything Durham. A little more tea and little checks of the room would’ve made it super. Only other slight disappointment was only small amounts of fruit at breakfast. Everything else was lovely including staff and general upkeep of hotel itself. Thank you for a great stay"

"We stayed for 3 nights and wished it could have been more. The hotel is in very good shape. Everything has been well thought out and the decor works seamlessly from reception to lounge, conservatory. Restaurant, corridors , landings and bedroom. Spotlessly clean, fresh towels and bedding. Lovely bathroom, plenty of hot water. Staff very friendly, pleasant and efficient. Food was excellent each breakfast and evening meal. The external seating areas worked well with well laid out patio and garden. Can’t praise the hotel enough. A wonderful 3 days and will definitely return for a relaxing few days holiday in the future."

"We had a lovely stay at Slaley Hall. The bedroom was very clean and a good size , as was the bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. The evening meal was very good and we had a choice of restaurant or bar. The pool and surrounding area was excellent, loungers, sauna, even an area for drinks The breakfast was also very nice, with a good choice. A beautiful Hotel and a fantastic stay. "
