Book a Maryport Cottage

"The cottage was part of a large former hotel and it has been converted very sympathetically. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable - we had a lot of space for the two of us (and the dog!) One of my favourite things was the picture window in the lounge, with beautiful views across the countryside down to the lake. The beds were very comfortable and the area was quiet. We did have a couple of issues with the boiler going off and the kettle not working but these were dealt with quickly....

I didn’t see anywhere on the listing that we would check in at the property upon arrival so I had to call VRBO to clarify before arriving since I had not received an email with check-in info like they said I was supposed to. "This is the 2nd time we have visited the barn and certainly will not be the last. The hosts are friendly and always happy to give advice to local areas, so much to do within the area, you have the national park within 30mins drive but you also have the west coast which holds great views over to Scotland.The 2 pubs are just a stones throw up the road and the food in both is excellent."

The layout is great and our toddler enjoyed playing in the large lounge and dining area where we could keep an eye on her through the glass windows in the downstairs doors. We appreciated the books for babies and young children and lake district guides for adults. The welcome goodies were a nice touch.
