"This motel continues to be our favourite in Gisborne. We love the friendly, welcoming hosts, the beautiful location next to the river and harbour, the proximity to the best cafes and restaurants in Gisborne, the close proximity to the cities main shopping and the great walks along the river and to the sea and beyond. Our 1 bedroom room was spotless and well equipped with everything we needed for our four night stay. We highly recommend this motel to fellow travellers and look forward to staying there again. "
"Our whanau stayed at the Verandah to attend our Kori’s 80th birthday. We had a large group staying so needed a big place. This property was awesome, it was big enough to easily accommodate us all comfortably, and we never felt as though we were tripping over each other. The house is very well appointed and had everything we needed to cook all our meals during our stay, so we weren’t having to eat out. Having young kids with us, we really appreciated all the toys and games that were available for us to use, the kids made good use of these and the large enclosed back yard. We stayed in winter and were delighted to find the gas fire place and heaters on when we arrived, so the house was really warm and comfortable. Finally, the host Kathy was brilliant. She was very accommodating, quick responding to any questions we had and a pleasure to deal with. I have no hesitation highly recommending this property as a great place to stay for your trip to Gisborne."

10/10 Excellent
"Perfect spot to spend your stay in Gisborne. Kylia was super helpful without intruding on privacy. The room is really spacious and everything you need including a heat pump that kept the space really warm. We were there in a really cold few days in June so the only downside was the bathroom is in a separate area that is not heated. So bring some slippers if you coming in winter. It wouldn't have put us off staying here. "
