"Nice and clean room. Private porch in the back for the morning coffee or evening wine. 3 minutes walk to the beach to see the sunrise (weather permitting). Pizza trailer arrives at around 5 pm. We were pleased with everything except the heating that was blowing directly on the bed. A bit uncomfortable."

"My plans kept changing, partially due to adverse weather and a change of flights, and partially because I enjoyed staying here and the lovely, gracious hosts made everything so easy. Loved this secure, quiet, and comfortable spot in a great location (close to the beach, town, and the hill). Considerably well-stocked, really comfortable bed, and the communication from the hosts was excellent. Would love to stay again, with more certain travel plans - or maybe I'll just drive. Thanks!"

"We had an upstairs room looking out over the bay. It is a strange arrangement with the bathroom room and small galley kitchen between the living room and bedroom and accessible from both. However it works just fine. The person on reception was very friendly and helpful. The motel is right on the beach and boardwalk and a 10 minute walk into town. Thoroughly recomment if staying in Gisborne."
