Malibu Lifestyle! Forget civilization in this Cape Cod Malibu beach house that sits just 45 seconds above Pacific Coast Hwy and enjoys 180 degree ocean views from Palos Verdes to the Anacapa Islands. 4 bedrooms. The spacious master bedroom has walk-in closets and it's own living-room size outdoor deck, with hot tub. A second even larger deck downstairs makes this an excellent entertainment home - and equally suited for private retreats. The kitchen is well-appointed, and contains an indoor grill. Almost all rooms have ocean views. There are two fireplaces. The ample, landscaped yard and sprawling lawn makes the setting private and serene. 5 minutes to Trances shopping center and Zuma Beach. Best scenic beaches are as close as one minute by car - or walk to them (see map). Hike at nearby Charmlee Park. Nearby restaurants. Perfect for vacations, retreats or short term luxury housing.

Comfortable Stay

Spacious and comfortable home, perfect for a 3 generation stay for ages 7 to 80. We loved the garden and outdoor spaces. Cozy living room. Ample beach towels and lots of coffee pods!

There are a lot of pros and cons to this property. Pros: View, plenty of space, comfortable beds, fresh flowers in vases upon arrival, laundry, a lot of kitchen cookware, mostly quiet neighbors and books to read. Cons: Hot tub was gone, bathrooms need updating, upstairs bathroom had mold in the shower, no response from owner when we had an issue on property, kitchen cabinets are sticky, propane tanks ran out, unable to light grills, a bit tricky to get out of the driveway safely, patio was dirty and furniture was dirty and had peeling paint, wood rot on many area of both outside patios, no warning that strangers would be coming by to put trash cans to the street, heard critter in the ceiling and walls and instructions for the house not out in the open. I found the instructions buried in a cabinet.

Awesome Malibu Vacation

My family and I had an Awesome family vacation. This house is wonderful and the property is beautiful. Amazing views and we really enjoyed watching the sunset. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and will be back again. I appreciate the owner Tom as he is very helpful!

Great location, beautiful view, spacious, extremely clean and well stocked. We enjoyed cooking in the lovely kitchen and eating out on the deck around the fire pit table. We will be back…thank you!

Malibu Dream

Unique and charming abode with lots of space for gathering inside and out. Very relaxing Malibu experience for our family group of eight adults attending a wedding. Host provides excellent recommendations of beaches and restaurants in area. Loved every minute of it.

Family Memorial Day

We wanted to stay somewhere that had some amazing views, we could relax, and yet be close other amenities. The was plenty of towels and large beach towels, things to cook with, and beds are comfort. The home is a little older and the water pressure not the best, but we worked it out. As for cleanliness, there were a few things that may want to have cleaning company spruce up hair and spider webs.

Relaxing paradise

We were looking for a nice escape from Texas heat and a relaxing place for our daughter to getaway from the city for a few days. The home was exactly what we were looking for and matched the description given by the hosts. The view of the ocean was incredible and we enjoyed relaxing by the fire pit each evening. the location was perfect for enjoying multiple beaches and near quite a few hiking trails. We definitely look forward to returning.

Malibu vacation experience

This house was a perfect fit for our family trip to Malibu. The size of the house was why we were drawn to stay here and it provided enough space for everyone to retreat when they needed a break from family. The views were amazing from the 2nd level patio and we were able to enjoy sunset from the hot tub. Some of the appliances were older and need repair, but overall we couldn’t have been happier with our stay in Malibu.

Beachside getaway

Beautiful property, overall comfortable stay and great location. Wonderful deck to just hang out and enjoy the view. Internet connection is intermittent which didn’t bother me too much. The AC unit upstairs is loud so I would not advise turning it on at night.

Fabulous location and comfortable and cozy home

We had a fabulous time over our three nights. We were celebrating my daughters graduation from Med School and the different spaces in the home and on the decks made it possible to have small groups of meaningful conversation, plus the big dining room table fit all of us. Since it was a pretty gray weekend the many many soft cozy blankets were well used. Purrrrfect.

Relaxing Malibu Short Stay

My partner and I wanted a quiet place out of the city where we could bring our dog Sam. This fit the bill perfectly. It is in a more remote area of Malibu but still close enough to groceries etc. It’s a short drive to Leo Carrillo State Beach which is one of the few dog beaches in LA County and it is right across the road from El Pescador beach. Great views to the ocean from the upper and lower decks. Loved the fireplaces and jacuzzi.

Beautiful Spot and Home

Great home with plenty of space for a large family. Couple of notes for owner- carpet on upstairs patio deck needs to go- it's in really bad shape. WIFI only worked sometimes. I sent you several messages about this- and was disappointed you never responded- nor to our request for an early check in. However, all in all it was a great experience!

great home, accurate description and photos

The home is great for families, out in west Malibu, very peaceful with a great view. 4 bedrooms, owner suite upstairs, 3 bedrooms downstairs. beds were comfortable and sheets were clean and crisp. some reviews talk about the owner being slow to respond. I think those are older reviews, since this week I always received a response within 1 hour of posting a message. Perhaps those reviews were from when the host was less experienced, he was great this week. I always worry when a listing seems too good to be true: is it a bad location? are the pictures from an older date when the home was in better shape? my experience was that this property listing is totally accurate. one note: it's fairly far from LA so if you plan on spending time in the city, expect to drive an hour or more one way to do anything. if you are looking to avoid the city and beach traffic, it's perfect. It is also an easy drive to Ventura, which is really nice too. I would stay again if I get the chance.

Encinal Canyon, Malibu

Overall we had a great stay at this home. The place is starting to show its age and wear. We had unusual amounts of rain while there and some of the Living Room windows leaked water, water came in along the header of the Dining Room doors to the front deck, and water also came in along the floor at the Kitchen back doors. The homeowner had plenty of beach towels handy to allow us the to control the water intrusions. However, the view was absolutely awesome and the place was overall clean. The homeowner, after several text messages, had a service person come when we had trouble with one of the ovens and the upstairs water heater. Malibu is an awesome place to visit, and this place was in a perfect location.
