Good base right near to kings cross, the guys were really friendly. We found some other residents quite noisy but this is no fault of the hotel. Room had everything needed. Were able to leave bags on check out to pick up later, really helpful.

Good basic hotel near kings cross

Good stay, they could do with some coat hooks in the room or some hanging space! Had all the basic amenities covered, and were very helpful when required.

Business stay

A little bit noisy and shower was cold but couldn’t find anyone to help fix it. Modern decor and easy to find/check in. Clean and comfortable just a pity about the above.

What a warm welcome from Front of House! My bag was whisked to my first-floor room with a wonderful view of the garden square. Everything was spotlessly clean, the room has some quirky rather engrossing art, the shower was good and strong ... can recommend the Melville for anyone who fancies a night or three in a really good part of town.

major building work nearby. Seemed to be a large group of men congregating regularly during the day in the small park next to the hotel. Could be intimidating for some people. Hotel itself very nice, with pleasant staff..

Disappointed

This was a disappointing hotel as I thought the Roxy chain are high end in other city’s! The bed was only just better than a camp bed, the shower had mould, and I was not making a coffee after looking at the kettle! I stopped at a hotel the other side of the park for the same money and would stop at that one instead!

The hotel was sufficient for a single night but the room was very small and up a very narrow flight of steps. The door to the bathroom stuck on the floor making it difficult to get the door open or closed.

Avoid like plague

Awful. Black mould everywhere. Door had been stripped of security lock and fitted with what looked like a child’s toy with only one locking point. Damp everywhere. Not even a bin that stays closed, aerating the place with whatever you’ve had to throw away. Not suitable for children.

The room was tired, paint work was chipped on the wall, the shower doors did not close and the shutters had slats missing The staff and comunucations was very good and they advised that they are hoping to complete renovations soon

My room was a little concrete pod, for lack of a better word. It was not attached to another room, so very quiet. To get to it, i had to unlock the front door of the building, go out back, and unlock my room, so i felt safe there, too. The hotel was also convenient to the Tube, BritRail, a Hop On Hop Off Tours stop, bus stops, dining, etc. I was very pleased.

Nice staff. Clean room. People yelled a d talked all night in the park. Right outside the window. They played music. Police were heard thru out the night. Not good for sleeping

The concierge recognized us as we entered and exited the property. They were very friendly. However the fixing for the room were not up to standards. They had only bath towels the curtains were broken. The bathroom was small and reminded me of an airplane bathroom. It was not a king sized bed.

Great staff but rooms need some work

The team at the hotel were excellent and very helpful but the condition of the rooms and bathrooms is not great, the images on the site are a bit misleading. It was quite difficult to get the shower to run hot and the first room we were shown had the curtains falling off. The staff were really helpful though and changed us to another room, can’t fault the service at all. Unfortunately the pleasant green square you see outside when you look on the map is currently a building site with excavations taking place which is noisy during the day too.

I'd look elsewhere

Its possible there are some decent rooms in this hotel. Mine wasnt one of them. Reception was nice and staff seemed friendly enough. Room was in poor condition with a smashed plug socket, wallpaper hanging off, bathroom very small and no shower curtain so everywhere got soaked when you took a shower. Metal camp bed looking thing with a cheap matress and 2 very thin pillows. I dont like writing poor reviews as ive run businesses in hospitality and i know how reviews affect business. But this wasnt a particularly pleasant stay unfortunately and one id not look to repeat.

First off I called before booking ask if it had electric parking. They said yes not far. I booked it. Electric charger doesn’t work and the guy said it’s not there problem. I understand that put pull that off your web page and not tell people it’s available when it’s not. Another thing the bath room smelled so bad from the moment you stepped in the “family” room. It was awful. Front desk gave me a air freshener spray. Hands down DO NOT BOOK. There are other great hotels around.

I requested extra blanket and pillow but when I asked at desk they were just telling me Hôtel is full. Eventually I got an extra pillow- I also asked about an adapter and was told just bit one because people don’t return them. How about u put a pending charge on my account and when o return it you take back the charge? Many hotels in Canada do this type of thing for tv etc Also speaking of tv the connection was spotty. We tried to fix it and unplugged it and re plugged it as it said on tv to do- Also we were told water maybe best to buy. A complimentary bottle would have been great. The coffee machine was great! I recommend putting bigger cups beside it as the small glass ones overflowed. I did find bigger ones in the cupboard. Over all ok I guess for one night close to the station.

A family with 3 adults staying for 3 nights. 1.Shallow and smaller then A4 paper basin, water splash all over your body. 2.I tried to remove the bath mat as I not get use to it, shocked to uncover the shower floor was broken. The mat was deliberately used for covering it up. Hair all stuck on the mat. 3.Table with a cup of coffee and an ashtray full of cigarettes in the front yard during check in, disgusting. 4.Broken lightbulb on the front yard floor, no fixing. 5.Light outside the entrance door covered with spiderweb. 6.No toilet paper and paper roll holder. 7.1 floor towel and 3 big towels on the first night. Host reluctantly gave us 3 more towels on the second night upon requests and specifying he will NOT provide us any more towels. I felt so bad begging for towels. One of the towels gave us on the second night were stained, disgusting. Description of the hotel amenities is cheating, please specify towels only available on the first day ONLY. 8.Sofa and chair with yellow stains. potato chips found on the sofa and the floor, clearly no/rough cleaning or sanitzing work. 9.We got 5 hangers, 3 of them were from fitting room with logos and printed size labels.Crazy. 10.I travelled with parents age 65 , I deliberately asked the host for the no of stairs. They said my room is on the G/F with just 3 steps, omitting the up and downstairs along the corridor. I knew your staff are willing to help on luggages, but a genuine answer to my query is a matter of honesty that I concern.

Expedia forgot to mention that this building doesn’t have a lift. We received a room at the 3rd floor taking very steep and narrow stairs. No chance to escape a fire,God forbid! The room is very small, the heating didn’t work so we had to use the hairdryer to heat the room and it smell terrible of chlorine. If you have a certain age or reduce mobility do not book this hotel

Down side: One of the double beds was a broken camp bed. Broken window in the room. Shared patio which we didn’t know before we went and it was filthy, cigarette bits etc. no coffee in the room. Overall a but random. Up side: Staff were really helpful. Great location for Kings Cross. No coffee provided in the room or reception Okay for one night. I wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer sadly.

Fun family one night stay

Super wonderful staff who were friendly and amiable. A small issue with a non-working code was sorted swiftly and in a very professional manner. If you have a dodgy back or sort joints the mattresses might not do you any favours but the room was perfect for a family of 4 about to go on holiday
