The room was average. It was clean and decent, but nothing particularly special. Overall, it was okay for a short stay, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Went for a 3 night stay and went cheap as we were out of the room pretty much all day only sleeping and changing there. We had to have our room changed 3 times as there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom in the first room and all kinds of things on the walls in the second room. 3rd room was a bit cleaner but still not great. Staff were kind but on the 3rd night the power went out and we were told that we wouldn’t have power for the rest of the night so we couldn’t charge any of our stuff like phones and other things. I would only stay here if you are going to be out of the hotel a lot. it is located in a lovely area in London, that is one of the positives I liked about this place, only a 2-3 minute walk to the nearest tube station that takes you right into central London.

Lets face it this is an old property, but the bed was clean, the room cleaned daily and clen towels every day (not all hotels do that,) No Bells No whistles a place to lay my head after a long day, that's enough for me.

Window handles were broken, bathroom door broken, panels around the corridors were broken, cleaner launched a bundle of dirty bed linen down the stairs which almost took us with it. Reception not the most helpful. However, convenient location. Bars and restaurants within metres. Empress Museum (which we were visiting) is a stones throw away. Parking great - big spaces. Beds were surprisingly comfy.

I liked that it was 5 minutes walking from the underground. I also liked the kindness of the people working at the hotel. But I had to ask to clean the room twice, it was full of dust everywhere, and in the bathtub there was some hair. Two days before our departure the fire alarm went on at six o clock in the morning and we all got very scared. They said it was a false alarm.

Pros: close to subway/tube, nice residential neighborhood, close walk to many places, very nice staff and stored luggage Cons: water dripping down walls and ceiling in hallway and bottom floor, fan in room did not have protective cover, toilet base cracked and leaking, bottom of tub support was rotted and chipping, blow dryer wired into wall and could not reset it when it stopped working

The window in our room was broken which meant it was very noisy as it wouldn’t shut properly, the sink leaked, the tap wouldn’t stop running and the toilet seat was broken. We had a knife instead of a spoon with the tea making facilities. We had a room next to the lift which meant the noise was excessive from the lift door when it closed. They did replenish toilet rolls and towels and give us extra tea bags when asked. The bed was comfy. The price was good too and location for tube was excellent.

Horrible bathroom

Bathroom was moldy and it was not possible at all to close the bathroom door, the door did not fit and i can only assume it was due to water damage expanding the door. There was holes in the walls around the bathtub and it smelled bad. The room itself was OK, and beds were OK, but the bathroom was horrible. On the plus-side, the hotel is very central and it is very easy to get around as public transportation is right outside.

Excellent cheap London hotel

I have stayed at Hotel Lily many times since the days when the Earls Court exhibition centre was at its busiest. The exhibition centre has long gone but Hotel Lily remains. It has always been legendary in its simplicity and grubbiness. It has appeal for a good location, a Tetris style car park and zero frills. It used to have a good basic breakfast and the car park was free to hotel users. There is no breakfast and the car park needs paying for (about £24 for a day). Don’t get me wrong we like Hotel Lily, but don’t book here and criticise the tired rooms. The bed and toilet were clean so there is some basic facilities. There was coffee sachets, milk and teabags (no kettle) and two small bars of soap (no shower gel or shampoo). Best of all there was a bath. All in all it is a gem that locals know of, which may one day get a fabulous clean and refurb. For now appreciate it is cheap and okay for a one night stay. No space to swing a cat, but fortunately cats are not allowed.

The hotel is really sort of dreadful. No ac and open window means lots of noise and light all night. The rooms are dilapidated, tiny, hot, and grimy. The hallways are absolutely filthy with mouldering towels, garbage, and odors. There was a discarded a water bottle partially filled with what I’m assuming was urine that sat in the corner of one hallway all week. The walls are paper thin, 1/2 the light don’t work and there is not hotel safe in the room which believe me you would want one. Staff was nice enough and area was convenient but facility felt like a flop house.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the initial room I was assigned. The room had a strong, unpleasant odor, and the floor was noticeably sticky. After realizing the odor did not dissipate, I requested a room change. Unfortunately, I was informed that no alternative would be available until 3:00 PM. This situation was quite uncomfortable and caused me to experience a headache throughout the morning. When I was finally moved, the new room was significantly better — cleaner and up to an acceptable standard.

Hotel close to West Brompton tube station. Sheets and towels were clean, although the toilet seat was broken, the shower curtain didn’t fit too well. The wardrobe door wouldn’t close. All in all, exactly what I expected considering the price I paid.

This is a basic hotel. Decor could some what be improved, but I was very grateful to find a cheaper hotel in London. You get what you pay for. It was a perfect place to put our heads down after seeing Harry Styles at Wembley. Easy access to tube (4 mins walk). £25 uber journey after the concert to get home and avoid the tube craziness. Most importantly bedding was clean and we slept well. Loved opening the window and hearing the busy streets and pub down below in the evening. Staff were friendly and helpful when I needed more teabags.
