A surprise value for once
Fantastic hotel, with great staff, history and an amazing view. Rooms are small, but it is European and 120yrs old. Sauna was a great extra as well

Lovely hotel with fantastic views. Breakfast is fantastic too. Had dinner in the hotel one of the nights and it was great. Will stay here again next trip.

Lovely typically Swiss hotel with views over the main street and mountains. Poor evening meal but lovely breakfast with helpful waitress. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel has nice views but I had a horrendous checkout process with a woman who was terribly rude and disrespectful to the point that our conversation escalated into an angry spat (and the fact that I was a brown woman traveling alone likely didn’t help). I’m a seasoned traveler who has been traveling for more than 2 decades and this was my worst experience, which says a lot. It was also the last leg of my trip and it left me with very bad feelings. Let me be clear: The younger woman at check-in was so welcoming and friendly. But the woman at checkout was decidedly not. And it wasn’t just her general attitude but also the way she responded to my questions in a mean, snide way. In the end, she was even vindictive and spiteful. Makes me wonder why she’s in the hospitality business.

Thank you for your feedback, we are happy you enjoyed our beautiful place and the amazing view. As we are a Hotel with many different cultures, im more than certain, that nobody was being racist. You didnt want to accept the fact, that nothing is for free in life, so is also not a massage. That the lady on reception didnt not just gave it to you, is nothing than right. Kindly be more aware of, that life costs. To yell at her did definitely not help and make your situation better. We thank you for your consideration for the next journey.

Great iconic Swiss chalet hotel
This hotel represents the coziness of a chalet hotel with first class service. The amenities are nice view is unbeatable in the restaurant is excellent.

Very welcoming staff, good included breakfast options, and phenomenal view - one of the best in Wengen. Dinner, while not included, was also great and was marked for allergens such as gluten, lactose, etc.

Is rated as a three star but much better quality than that, deluxe robes in room, super service and make sure you get a room with a balcony. Overlooks beautiful snowcapped mountains. Has an excellent restaurant not to miss.

I arrived on a Friday evening at 6pm and was told that the restaurant was fully booked. Then later, I went down and they had an opening. Glad there was because there were no other options. The Hotel should at least notify guests that if they arrive on weekends there may not be any place to eat dinner, not even a quick market to get some sustenance for children. Otherwise, great location and comfortable bedding.

Fantastic Hotel!!! We were looking for a nice, quiet hotel for our mountain retreat. This place was perfect. It wasn't the most expensive hotel in the area, but you would never have guessed it. The location is great, right in the middle of "downtown" Wengen. Easy to locate upon exciting the train. Beautiful exterior, stereotypical Swiss chalet. Check in was super easy. Extremely clean. I booked a room with a view, view was incredible. I could have sat on my balcony and stared at the view all day. Room was average size for Europe. I stayed with my wife, and we had enough room. The decor was excellent. Very quiet. Comfy beds. We used the sauna, very nice. The "honesty bar" was cool. Got some coffee. The had alcohol and snacks available but I didn't partake in it. The employees very helpful. Breakfast came with the room and had solid options. I would stay here again for sure. Wengen is such an interesting town. Easy access to the valley or up to the top of Jungfrau. 5 stars.

The view from our room was amazing. Good breakfast. Room was small, bed squeaked, very small bathroom. I didn't care for the wood floors. Although we knew Wengen would be a bit more expensive, i was disappointed in what we received for our money. We absolutely loved Wengen and the whole Lauterbrunnen valley as well as the surrounding area. Spectacular!!

Nice stay in Wengen
My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights in September. The hotel is adorable and has beautiful views of the Alps from both the rooms and restaurant. It was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We did have dinner one night at the hotel and it was also very good; albeit pricey...which is the norm in Switzerland. (I didn't realize I needed to specifically ask for tap water and ended up paying 16CHF for two bottles of still water.) Overall, we were very happy with our stay and the accommodations were very nice. In terms of location, there is not a ton to do and almost every connecting train must go back through Lauterbrunnen, to reach other locales. So, if you are looking for something more centralized, this might not be the right place for you.

A perfect hotel among the Swiss Alps
This hotel was amazing. A five minute walk from the train station. Amazing views of surrounding mountain from our balcony. The hotel restaurant had delicious food and daily breakfast was great. In house sauna was so relaxing along with a lounge with tons of books, games, coffee and tea. And the staff was amazingly helpful with suggestions on food and excursions. A perfect stay in a perfect location!!

Great view
This hotel is far up on the hill and overlooks the mountain. It has a great view. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. The breakfast was good. I loved the fact that they had decaf cappuccino. It was a great place to stop while hiking from Grindelwald.
